The plastic insulators may have become dislodged. If the filter is fully dry, and it is arcing, look for plates that are nearly touching. and look for the distinctive black residue the arcing will leave behind.Depending where the arcing is occurring, the cell may need to be replaced if inslutors have degraded excessively. If hair or a dust bunny get in there, it is comparable to a bumble bee getting caught in a bug light zapper- it might take a while to clear.

I have a F50E electronic filter. The light comes

It's possible that the board is at fault. Triple check and make sure all the ionizing wires are in place on both cells and that the thin collector plates are not touching each other. Also, make sure the contact points are clean on both the cells and the cabinet.
The F50 is an obsolete EAC, so parts are becoming difficult to get. If the board is bad, I would recommend unplugging the unit and using a MERV 10 media filter in its place (Honeywell designed that EAC with the same cabinet as the media filter... all they did was add a power pack on top for the EAC. The media filter will slide directly in the cells place.) You will get better filtration with much less maintenance.

Can the Honeywell RUVLAMP1/C be

Yes, no problem - in the end it all depends on how skilled the installer is since it will have to cut a hole and seal it properly in the side of the plenum to install the device.
No, it will not affect the insides - the UV rays it generates don't have any effect on the materials used.
Yes, it partially diminishes odors by breaking their molecules, but it's not very effective at that - it wasn't designed to work on such small molecules (for that the UV power would have to be way higher). Yes it generates some ozone in the process, but it's a level so low that you will need testing equipment to detect the difference.
Every good home improvement shop should have it - i bought one for a friend from Home Depot. Since i've never even been to Florida i can't help you there.

We have model 11502 air purifier. Recently turned

Yes there is a thermal cutoff that will shut the motor off for a period of time to protect it from getting to hot. If this is what happened after 20-30 mins. the motor should come back on and run again. If it does I would try to clean motor as best I could using a soft brush, vacumn, and blow out with air if possible. Clean fan of f as best you can to help motor run cooler.Hope this helps.Thank you
