To RESET the Electronic Filter Check: When the filter check light remains on,it is time to check/clean the HEPA-Type filters and reset the filter check,if needed. With the unit powered on,insert the tip of a ball-point pen or paperclip into the hole next to the LED filter check light and hold for approximately 5 seconds until the light turns off (Fig 5). Depending upon your individual usage (environment and hours used),you may need to check and clean the filters more or less frequently. If the HEPA-Type filters are cleaned before the filter check light turns on,the filter check should be reset at the same time. These cleaning intervals are intended as guidelines only. Performance of any filter media is dependent upon the concentration of contaminates going through the system. High concentrations of contaminates such as dust, pet dander and smoking will reduce the useful performance of the filter. NOTE:The HEPA-Type filters are not washable. Fig.5
I purchased a Honeywell Model HHT090 and I have cleaned the filters and the red light still will not go out. What can I do to ge the light to turn off. It says to vaccum the permanent pop in filter and I have done so and he red light is still on. What can I do !!!!'
I am also having a hard time -- my hepa (something-600?) filter's red light is continuing to stay on despite pushing the reset button various times and lengths of time. I tried switching it off and then on again. Looked at filter, installed it a few weeks ago (new), made sure everything was put in correctly and clean.
Cannot find a reason for the red reset button to still be on!! Very frustrating. :(((

Ignore the lights. Wash the outer foam filter every two months. As long as air is going through the inner filter does not need to be changed. Blow the inner filter out FROM THE INSIDE with your vacuum cleaner. (blow air the opposite direction of air flow to get the nasty stuff off.)
So after you have replaced the V5 Cell Filter in the IQ Air, here are the steps you'll need to follow in order to reset the filter indicators:
At the main menu on the control panel, push the menu button 7 times until you get to the screen that says Replace Filter.
At the Replace Filter screen, press and hold the Enter Key until the cursor appears, and is flashing.
Press the UP arrow button on the keypad until you get to the V5 Cell Filter.
At the V5 Cell Filter screen press the Enter Key to confirm your filter reset selection. This will turn the corresponding filter LED to a flashing red light. IQAir requires that your reconfirm the filter selection to prevent inadvertently resetting the wrong filter. If you chose the wrong filter, press the menu key after pressing the enter the first time to disregard the filter change command.
To confirm the filter reset selection, press enter a second time, which will reset the filter life, and reset the filter hours.
You can repeat these instructions for the other two filters on your machine when it's time. Here's a link to the product manual for your IQ Air Health Pro Plus which will give you the same instructions, as well as other maintenance instructions.

You need to reset it, unplug the unit and take out both filters. Then, plug it back and and simultaneously and firmly slam both filters into the back of it at the same time. Before putting both filters back inside the until, also vacuum out the insides in case there is hair/dust inside of it that has accumulated.
Also, make sure your filters are 100% dry before every putting them back inside the unit.
Good luck!
no with the red lite on it mean that you need to change your filter its a safety feature so you dont burn out your motor and also so you dont blow unpurified air through out your home
After spending hours searching for this supposed little hole easy to miss, I called customer service. I found out that it's easy to miss because it doesn't exist!
Here's the correct answer: Once you've replaced the filters, turn the unit back on. Then, with the machine running, press and hold down the on/off power button for about two seconds. The red light will flash and then turn off.
Here is the link to the user manual;
http://www.filterqueen.com/pdf/defender.pdf
The red light indicates a filter needs replacing, see page 6 of the manual (page 9 of the pdf file)
If filters have been replaced and the light still flashes, then the reset procedure (described on the same page) should work.
If still flashing then there is a more serious, but probably fixable fault.
Hope this helps - ask again if you need more info :)
When the red light is blinking, press and hold both up and down arrows until the red light blinks RAPIDLY, release both for a second or two, and press and hold both again until it stops blinking. It cured my problem.
