2 Insert an original DVD and let it play until you hear the sound.Copied DVDs will not work for this.
3 Press the STOP button TWICE with the remote.
4 Using the remote enter 26604 and press enter. If done correctly you should hear it beep and the video will be viewable.

Reset button ?
A tiny pin size button just below the "Mode" and "Next Track '>>I' " button.
Radio has no power at
the fuse is in the black box tied in to the main power wire, the yellow one. open it up and the fuse is inside. if this has been cut off and your other fuses are fine, the unit did not have proper protection and probably fried from a surge or short cicuit . the fuse on the unit should be a 10 amp mini and no higher.
Is there a code for the dual xdvd8181
on the back of the unit you will see a yellow/blue wire probably has a tag that says parking brake(-) tie that wire in with your main ground wire- black wire. no more video block. so i dont get in trouble remember that in most states it is illegal to watch videos while driving so dont watch them while driving this is only used as a reference only and do this at your own risk.
Installation
hi there,
the unit wil come with instructions in diffrent laungues.
I dont know how to get my dual xdvd 8181 to play music videos
When you burn the c.d. make sure the burner has it on the correct settings. The "blank" c.d.s you are playing will play on a computer but nothing else. If you change the recording settings so that it isn't for cpu only you will be good to go!

Wont take cd or dvd
I took the unit apart and found there was a little plastic piece that broke off. The piece held a spring in place that aligned the bottom disk tray. Does the unit scratch your cd when it spits it out?
Bypass code for the dual 8181 cd player
For the Anti-Theft Passcode if you forgot yours - Turn to player on. Make sure the screen is out. Press and HOLD the MUTE button. While holding the MUTE button, press and HOLD the POWER button. (Should be holding them both down at this time.) After about 12 seconds a new passcode screen should come up. Release the MUTE and POWER buttons. Type in 122164. Press OK. Your passcode is now reset to 0000.
For The E Brake Passcode - Put in a DVD. Wait until you hear the sounds of the DVD. Press STOP twice on your remote. Press 22604 on the remote. Press OK/ENTER on the remote.

Unit doesnt read disks
Possibly a "logic lock" issue. Try unplugging the unit WHILE it's powered up. Wait a few, then plug back in and try agin. Let me know.
If sme problem, you can "try" a laser lens cleaner but I never had any luck with those. By my guess the unit is around 2 years old?
Oh, and make sure the discs are clean.....duh :-)

HOW TO BYPASS PARKING WIRE FOR XDVD8183
Unfortunately the Duals on't work like the Jensens do. I know of only one way. Get it to bypass with a toggle switch and go through the sequence to get it to come on. You may want to wire it hot all the time so you don't have to do switch flipping every time. Trust me it's a pain in the booty. Once bypassed, since the deck is on all the time, you manuall shut it off thus retaining the bypass.
