Sony BRAVIA DAV-HDX267W Theater System with Wireless Speaker Kit System Questions & Answers
Sony dav-hdx265- disc is stuck- door will not open
According to the Sony manual, a C-31 error code indicates that the disc is not inserted correctly. Their recommended fix is to restart the system and re-insert the disc correctly. That just leaves the problem of getting the disc out, right? If eject doesn't work, you may have to open the disk drawer manually. With single-disc systems this is fairly simple: there is always a small pinhole near the disc drawer, usually just below the right side of the drawer. Straighten a paper clip and stick it into the hole until the latch releases, then remove the disc and close the drawer. All should be fine from there on. I do not know if multi-disc systems have the same sort of release but that is where I would start.
Push power protector
Do a cold reset, page 90 of your manual. Push power button, stop button and disk eject at the same time. Wait 5 minutes and turn back on. Look on page 90 of the manual. This worked for me after trying over a year. I beat I didn't have 25 hrs on mine. Good Luck
Not all my speakers sound
Most inputs are not true 5.1 surround; with the exception of the mic and many movies. You will not have all of them working from, say an ipod or TV unless you choose a sound mode that mimics 5.1 or grater from a 2.1 source. These are modes like Pro Logic (1&2) and often "entertainment mode" or something simmilar that plays the sound out of all 6 channels.
How do connect my speakers so that i can hear them
To hear the TV system through your Sony unit you will need to connect a RCA type lead from the AUDIO OUT sockets on the back of your TV to the AUDIO IN sockets on the back of the Sony unit. These types of leads are readily available in lots of stores and usually have a red, white and yellow connector on each end. You will only need to connect the red and yellow leads and they should be clearly marked on both units.
You will also need to set your SONY unit to AUX mode but you will not get proper Surround Sound.

I have a subwoofer with standard speaker wire
The Subwoofer is Likely Passive....meaning no amplifier is within the enclosure itself....the incompatible connectors mean you cannot connect the subwoofer itself to your surround sound system.
look for a Suitable stand-alone (1 Channel) Amplifer with sufficent power.....connect the RCA Imputs (subwoofer cable) to the Recievers RCA subwoofer output....then connect the amplifier's output to the the wire going into the subwoofer enclosure....if there is a plastic connector simply cut it off and strip the wires down a sufficent lenght....then secure the wires to the output of the amplifier.
if you do this make sure you know the ohm rating of the subwoofer and the minimum ohm rating of the amplifier your using.
It says push power protector on my new sony surround system
Protect mode will kicking whenever a fault is detected.
Causes that can start protect mode are:
Electrostatic harges on internal circuits.
Leave the unit unplugged for power for one hour or so, this will allow discharge.
Bad speaker wiring.
Check speaker wiring, try unplugging and plugging back, or start after removing one speaker at the time.
Internal fault.
Internal
fault is the natural cause for protect mode. If all the above did not
work, then the problem is a blown component or an internal fault. In
this case the unit must be taken apart , tested and repaired by an
experienced person.
If the unit is less than one year old, or if you
want to get service, call Sony at the phone number listed on the
product documentation.
Regards.
Need Dish Network Code for Sony DAVHDX275 Audio System
Refer to page 82 in your Dish Network User's Guide......(Make sure Sony system is powered on and in DVD mode with a disc in the player). Point Dish remote at Sony box - Hold Aux until all buttons light up at top....press 2 - then STAR button* and then POWER button - then press the up arrow key repeatedly until Sony turns off - press # key to lock in code.
It took me awhile to get it to work....it will only work power, mute, and volume - not dvd play functions.
Refer to page 85 to make the Dish remote control the Sony box volume by default.
Good luck.

Protector and "push Power"
Please check speaker wires should be properly connected and not touched / shorted.
Push Power Protect is error sign when unit got problem in Power Amp area and mostly its Power Amp Out IC failure.
I would suggest to ask Sony for warranty cover.

Code for Comcast remote for Sony DAVHDX275
It seems like most (maybe all) Sony HTIB do not work with the Comcast Custom Remote. I've found a work around that fixes the volume control and power button though. Hope it helps you all. I have a DAVHDX275 but I think this will work for most Sony HTIB systems.
What you need to do is steal some codes from a like product and then hardcode in the changes you need to the comcast remote. Set your AUX to 21232 (a sony code for TV/VCRs).
Then do the following:
1. While still on AUX, press and hold SETUP again until the remote blinks twice
2. Type 994
3. Press and release SETUP
4. Type 32975
5. Press and release VOL+
The remote should blink twice. That should reprogram the VOL+ to work with your Sony HT device. For each of the following function codes, follow the same steps and use the codes listed below:
Vol+ = 32975
Vol- = 31951
Power = 32719
Good luck. Let me know if it works.
