Kodak EasyShare Z710 Digital Camera - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Just bought a 52mm hood, but it doesn't fit...
The hood you buy needs to be the same as the inner ring on your lens. If you look at the inside of the lens ring or on the outside of the lens it will tell you what size filters will fit your lens. If the 52mm is too small or too big you should be able to find a adapter for it so it will fit. Try going to B&H photo website. They have tons of photography items. Hope this helps.
It tells me I have a driver problem
Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa (
http://picasa.google.com ).
Battery is stuck inside camera
When this happens, consider the battery lost. It must have had a reaction inside that made it hot and that caused it to deform. Or it leaked and is oxidised.
So everything you can do to get it out without damaging the camera is ok. You have to buy a new battery. But before going through lots of trouble, ask what a new battery will cost. If it is more expensive than a new camera (with battery) go for the new camera.
Kodak z710 I cannot transfer photos onto my computer.
It may be time to buy a card reader for your computer. You can get one at a department or electronics store for not much more than a cup of coffee.
