Trying to change the channel

There is no international or local frequency - the frequencies are determined by international standards. But there are 2 sets of them: A - for ship stations; and B - for ground stations. Your radio is strictly a ship station one - it can't operate the 77B channel for ground stations.
But your station has an Local/DX capability - meaning that it can be set to ignore distant stations . This is done by reducing the sensitivity of the receiver. Switching between them is done directly in the Menu -pres the CALL/MENU button to enter it, it's the second entry in there. If you really need to pick up very distant stations you will have to upgrade the antenna to a Yagi one.

Goto functions disabled on Raymarine E80 (classic) chartplotter

" During the night the goto functions ceased working" (sic) Have you "Reset" this unit. This indeed sounds like a software problem, with either the MAPS, themselves, Or, the units Operating System & I wonder if a return to a reset state may not clear this "Glitch" ? Now if this doesn't clear it, then all one can really do, is reinstall the operating system, from either a CD/DVD or from the manufacturers website.

Ihave aproblem with a435i gps unit, the other week

On Sat 21 Nov I disconnected the unit and checked to make sure no pins had snapped off inside the connection port, I then connected the unit to a spare power cable in the garage(it has an in-line fuse and ac adaptor fitted), powered on the unit then scrolled thru the various menus powered off unplugged the unit, then re-connected it back in the boat and went for a cruise up the local river yesterday Sun 22 Nov and the unit worked fine, so my guess is a good as anyone's as to how it was fixed, most electrical appliances have gremlins of some kind, could have been low power from the old battery(replaced it), I definately checked and re-checked the connection though, mine are covered in vicks vapour rub (a suggestion from Navcom - local dealer for raymarine).cheers and many thanks

I have a Raymarine C80

Sounds like you may have a loose or stretched internal wire or possibly loose solder joint. Has the system been updated or upgraded lately?
