Usually a dimming screen is 100% low voltage. Is there any chance that a connector is green or is poorly connected?

It's possible a cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamp backlight failure! If unit doesn't have electro-luminescent style backlighting. All LCD panels require white light to see what is on the screen!!! Is same common problem that computer (pc) lcd monitors suffer from!!! I suspect that if your unit has CCFL's that the SMPS power supply or CCFlamp INVERTER circuit has a problem common to ALL LCD monitors. I should think that any BIG TIME tv/monitor repair shop could examine the printed circuit boards and affect a repair for you! Just mention that you think it suffers from the BLACK SCREEN of DEATH syndrome.

The open aray requires seperate power not through the C120.
