Hi.
Disconnect the power cord and connect back after five minutes
If the disk is stuck inside, the disk with the bad recording can prevent the unit from start.
If disk does not eject, to eject the disk follow the instructions here:
DVD player in my home theater system won't eject. If the disk still does not eject after pressing repeatedly the eject button while starting the unit at same time, then the DVD RW must be disassembled, removing the top cover to take out the bad disk.
In that case call first Samsung at the number listed on the owners manual, to verify your warranty status, as disassembling the unit will invalidate warranty.

Sounds like the laser is either dirty or miss aligned. At any rate, i may not be worth trying to fix as the price of DVD players is so cheap the cost of having it repaired would buy you a brand new one.
If its just dirty, use a dvd lens cleaning disk, try it then.
My sony dvd recorder rejects all types of dvd's
Hi.
The symptoms are usually telling you that there is a lens problem. In some case a firmware problem can give the same.
If problem is firmware, the manufacturer will be aware, and there will be an update available.
First contact Samsung to check if a firmware upgrade is available, and follow their instructions to load the update.
Your Samsung contact is listed on the manual.
If that does not work, it means that there is a lens problem, in that case refer to the instructions below:
My player does not read disks
Will not read blank media so that I can record.
Ok, Firstly it sounds like you have reasonable knowledge on what you're doing.
But just to clarify a few things.
1.You say you have tried a couple of different brands of disc.Unless they are of good quality
or compatible with your machine they may not work properly.Try TDK or Verbatim for example.
Also make sure they are DVD-R or DVD-RW.
2.If no blank discs are successful, then you may need to clean the laser lens thoroughly.
I know you said you cleaned the lens, but was this with a lens cleaner disc?
If so it will only remove dust not built up grime from other sources such as smoke from cigarettes.
This would entail taking the cover off the unit and cleaning the laser lens directly with a
cotton bud dipped in cleaning fluid. If you are not confident in doing this, then you
would need to get someone qualified to do so!
I have gotten many DVD Players and DVD Recorders working again doing this.
Hi there.
I have the SAMSUNG
Hi julian269,
This is a DVD recorder problem. The disc is absolutely fine.
There is no hard and fast fix for the same. We can use basic fixes....
1. Use a lense cleaner.I hope if there would be any dust particles or any clogs, that would be taken off.
2. If not, open the player ( Make sure its not in warranty ), there is a lense just below the plastic panel. Take a soft cloth ( i would prefer cotton ), just try to clean that. Again, close the flap and than try to use that.
I hope this would fix your problem, unless sorry to be bearer of bad news, you need to change lense. I would recommend you than to check what would be the price of the orginal lense ( local lense would extend the life upto one year on an average )..........
Also, check if you can grab a used lense on ebay... ( In working condition )....
http://www.ebay.com
On comapring all options, its your decision to make a repair or purchase a new one ( That would a good idea, keeping in mind it would not create any problem in the next couple of years atleast )......
I hope my solution would be able to guide you in a proper direction.

Hooked up cables cant get video or audio
Make sure that your pluged into the proper inputs on the rear of the television. Double check them... (I've done this before too).
If you are sure the inputs are ok then make sure that your television is set to the proper input. Toggle the button on your television remote (input - source - device) for your input. Everyone is labled a bit differently.
This should bring up your dvd player when you reach the correct input.
