Zoom (5590-00-03) Wireless Router (G66115) - Page 3 Questions & Answers
My zoom ADSL X6 works well for my ethernet. Yet
hello. with regard to your concern.. the network key is probably under the adsl x6 or at the side of the device.. if you cant see it.. try to access the setup page, but you need to know the default gateway of your adslx6, to check the ip address right click the network icon on the lower right taskbar of your computer and select on status, select support and it will show the details.. ex. your default gateway is 192.168.1.1, pull up a brower and at the url, type the default gateway, 192.168.1.1 then it will ask for the username and password.. after entering the username and password.. go to the wireless setting and it will show there the network key..

The Zoom Router bumps me off every 5 minutes, and
you need to goto router manufacturer`s website and download the latest firmware according to your router`s firmware.you can the firmware upgrade manual on the same page where you`ll find firmware.after upgrading the firmware reset the router and reconfigure it.while reconfiguring the router you`ll also get the option for securing your wireless network.take care.

Laptop won't connect to wireless
Hello :-)
Try going into device manager, and uninstalling your wireless network adapter.
Reboot your PC. It will automatically reinstall your wireless network card.
Now try your wireless connection. This often solves random wireless issues.
Good luck!

Cant connect wireless router to laptop
With cable attached type http://10.0.0.2 and enter the username admin and the password zoomadsl then go to basic setup and make sure your ISP username and password are listed under PPP then click start next to 'configure my network' save changes and write to flash. Make sure the DSL light is on solid (otherwise its an issue with your phone line/isp account).

Hp does not support zoom wireless set up
For X6:
Plug one end of an ethernet cable into router and one end into your PC.
Type http://10.0.0.2 into a web browser (eg. Firefox or Internet
explorer) username/password is admin/zoomadsl go to basic setup and
input your ISP username and password (the one given to you by your
internet provider) under PPP. Click configure my connection. Save
changes and then write to flash (both buttons on bottom of page)

I can't remember my username and password. How
hi, the router can be set to factory default by pressing the Reset button of the router and resetting through the router's web-based setup page. pressing the Reset button at the back of the router for 30 seconds will reset your router to factory default settings. any settings on the router will be erased and the router's IP address will become "192.168.1.1". the username and password will be "admin" after resetting.

Cannot connect to internet via wlan but can lan
The only thing that seems to be missing here is did you try another wireless card? If its built in you can get a usb wifi or pcmcia type. That will probably get you back online via wifi.

Hi there! ;)
I've recently changed
To access the Zoom Configuration Manager (web-based configuration utility)
- Close any open programs including antivirus and pop-up blockers.
- Open a web browser, and in its address bar, type http://10.0.0.2 (or http://192.168.0.1 for Zoom ADSL X6v users) and then press Enter (or Return).
- In the Enter Network Password dialog box, type
the following username and password in lowercase then click OK. (Note:
The modem User Name and Password you enter here are NOT the same as the
User Name and Password that your Internet service provider may have
given you.)
- User Name: admin
- Password: zoomadsl (where "l" is a lowercase letter L)

Mac router compatability Zoom ADSL X6
Remember it takes two to tango, so the issue may just as well be in the iMac as in the Zoom X6... Regardless of that, I had the same problem (PC works fine, iMac and PC both get flaky when the iMac is powered up). Zoom tech support suggested trying RF channels 1, 6, or 11. The router was using channel 10, changing to channel 11 calmed things down. Zoom said there wasn't anything magic in those numbers, but their testing showed those channels worked best with the Apple products.

HP laptop won't always connect to zoom router
Every time I have ran into this issue it is because of wireless interference. Try these steps:
1) If you have a cordless phone, try turning it off (unplug the base). Some cordless phones operate on the same frequency that your wireless network does.
2) Change the wireless 'channel' your network is on. There are 11 channels. For best results, choose either 1, 6 or 11. Most wireless routers come preconfigured on channel 6. So if your neighbor has wireless and is operating on the same channel, your leptop may be getting confused.
3) Make sure your laptop and wireless router are operating on the same encryption level (WEP, WPA or WPA-2) and speed (A, B or G). Some older laptops do not support WPA-2.
Good Luck!

I just bought a wireless
Open your web browser and enter the Internal IP address of your router (usually 192.168.1.1 - You can check this by opening a command prompt and type in ipconfig. The router's IP will be your gateway address).
You will be prompted for your routers username and password authentication. It probably still is the default of the device. It depends on the device on what default password it will be. The best way to find out what the username and password is to look in the owners manual. If you don't have that, then google the model number of your Zoom router with the words "default password".
Once you are in your routers web page, click on the Wireless icon at the top. This page will show you everything you need to configure your HP wireless printer.
Good luck!

Signal showing but no connection (zoom 5590 x6)
Hi……there could be a number of reasons why you can’t connect. I’m assuming you have rebooted both laptop and router to see if this helps, so let’s move on to some basic troubleshooting steps to start with:
- Can you pick up the internet through a wired (Ethernet) connection between the laptop and the router? If so, this narrows the problem down to your wireless connection.
- Can you login to your router again, and check to see if MAC filtering has been enabled. To find this, go to Advanced Setup > MAC filtering. If the status is ‘enabled’, disable it, Save changes, and try to connect wirelessly again
- If MAC filtering is off, and you still can’t connect, go to ‘View Wireless Networks’ on your laptop: disconnect from your network, wait 30 seconds, and reconnect. When prompted, re-enter your network key very carefully. Can you connect now?
If you still can’t connect, please come back to Fixya, and let me/us know the operating system on your laptop. Good luck…

Zoom aDSL modem/wireless router seen but not connecting
Here are a couple of ideas to look at first, assuming you haven't tried them already:
1) Does moving the router help? Sometimes a new DECT phone or a microwave, or even a piece of equipment at a neighbour's house, can interfere with the signal.
2) Does changing the channel on your router help at all? If there are many other networks using the same channel, this might block your own signal.
3) If this does not make any difference, it might be worth checking your security settings.
