Welcome to Fixya

Hi. As what i understand the MC760 alone can connect to the internet without connecting to the router. This device will act as a modem right away. This is the one of the device where you will put in a simcard to connect to the internet if i am not mistaken. You need to download and install the software of for this device and creat a dial up for your to be able to connect to the internet. Here's the link where you can download the driver and the procedure on how to create Dial up.

Thank you for using Fixya!

1. You will have to reset the router to factory default and run the setup wizard using your set up CD and create a new key.
Set up your laptop on the router using either the MAC address or a new password key.

1.Log into router
2. Verify wireless router name( on the computer) >>> ( on/off)
3.Note router name you are connecting to.
4.. Check the laptop do ipconfig /all to see current IP adresses.
5. Set the laptop up in the router by WEP KEY or MAC address.
6.Note router name you are connecting to.
7. Move the laptop about 20ft away and try to log on to the internet.
This is for all routers to set up wirelessly.

The network key is most likely the password if you like for your wireless internet connection. If this is not your connection, you cant obviously get the network key. If it is your wireless connection, then you will need to reset your wireless router and set it up again with a new password that you can remember

You need to do a reset to the router hold in the the rest buttons for 30 seconds. Then shut down the pc and try it again.

When it boots up see if there are any errors.
I also want you to go (command prompt) type cmd in the run box and type in just like this
ipconfig /all
see if an ip address comes up
then type in ipconfig /release
wait then type this
ipconfig /renew

Wait till it collects info then restart computer it should resolve after that its a communication error with the router and the pc.

Your pc might be using a static IP address. Make sure its on automatic. Go to Control Panel, Network Connections. Right-click on Local Area Connection and click Properties. Look for Internet Protocol TCP/IP and double click it. Select Obtain an IP Address Automatically and Obtain DNS Servers Automatically. Click OK all the way out. Also disable any firewall you have like Norton Firewall, McAffe, Zone Alarm and the likes.
