I need a driver for TDV FV19B 19 inch monitor

TDV VISON

This company might be out of business

1001 Lawson St
City of Industry , CA 91748

The Company Internet Site at http://www.tdvvison.com/ is no longer available
(877) US.VISON

There are lots of people that are having problems locating drivers.
I suggest you look for a third party support driver or possibly some downloadable firmware. There is a company called "3 geeks and a mouse" that services and repairs the OLD TDV Vision Lappys. They possibly could provide you with additional support or suggestions.
I hope this helps...good luck.

Manitor is not working

The monitor is probably on protection.

To start unplug monitor from power and from computer and test computer with different monitor to find out if it is monitor or computer fault.

If it is computer fault and no video signal , then test:

  • Video cable.
  • Video adapter on PC (sometimes integrated on motherboard)
  • Motherboard.

If it is monitor fault , then the monitor is on protection.

When on protection you keep having a flashing led on front of the monitor , and monitor turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the Monitor goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or a broken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , starting the flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then the monitor will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occurr are a blown capacitor on power board, faulty inverter board, faulty input board, or a fault on LCD Digital Controller board.

Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing statebecause of the video cable.

Try moving the video cable, and if the cable is not built in, then also try a replacement cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

No signal

When you get no signal problem, then check the video cable, and test computer on a different monitor.

If that does not help, then there is a fault on monitor input connector.

Hi Denise,

Hope this helps; If you can control this before, ask for asisstance in opening monitor chassis with certified technician due to High Voltage Shock risk. Resolder the menu buttons and the control circuits. Resolder also SMPS module driving voltage to control circuit.

Best regards,
you are an idiot i have the same problem several times with this unit too. and it has nothing to do with a burnt wire you ********* stupid ********.

Vison flat 19" hooked to toshiba laptop w/Vista no signal

Can't say I really "fixed" the problem. I tried other monitors, DVI cord and took the laptop to a repair shop. Nothing worked. And then....boom.....it worked! No one knows why or how. No one did anything to the computer or monitor. It just works. Who knows how long it will work, but it works today.

LCD monitor

There are video processors that can convert a regular TV video signal to the VGA or DVI format to drive a monitor.

I found that these video processors are not of very good quality unless you get a very expensive one. And, even then, the computer monitor is not as good as a dedicated TV set that was designed for the application.

Power light comes on ,

First of all make sure this is not just a button issue like having the BRIGHTNESS turned down too low. If you are unable to see anything including the menu screen items then the problem is probably not just a wrong display setting.

Turn on your monitor and then turn off all the lights in the room to check if your screen is completely black or if there is still a glow coming from it even though there is no video signal.

If your monitor screen stays completely black, then you most likely have a problem with the power supply to your backlight inverter circuit. This is normally caused by some failed electrolytic capacitors.

If you disassemble the unit and look on the power supply circuit board, you will probably see some scorched or bulging / leaking capacitors there. These components (usually around 6 of them) will need to be removed and replaced with new ones.

The repair procedure is not extremely difficult if you have some basic electrical safety knowledge, and some decent electronics repair / soldering skills.

You will need to unplug the power cord from the unit, and then remove the rear access panel or the entire rear cover as required in order to access the circuit boards inside.

Disconnect and remove the faulty circuit board. Desolder and remove the faulty capacitors and replace with new ones from your local or online electronic parts supplier. Then just reinstall / reconnect the board and test.

I purchased a vison 19"

Welcome to the world of disposable LCD monitors. I got one of these at Fry's, but have had no problem except that it won't accept HDMI input from my DVR.
Check the screen after it blacks using a flashlight to see if you can see the actual information displayed. The LCD is backlit with CCFL - cold cathode fluorescent light - tubes located at the sides or the top/bottom. They can go bad, and over draw the inverter, or the inverter, which converts ~12vdc to ~10,000Vac, can have capacitors which are low quality and are drying out, changing their value.
So, open the display up by un-snapping the plastic cover, removing the screws holding the metal support to the backside of the display, and then the back cover. Most have snap-together bezels that can be separated by using a thumbnail between the two pieces. You should then be able to inspect the power supply, inverter, and display logic board. Look for capacitors that have drooled or have their tops puffed up. Those are signs of failure.
Let me know what you find.
