Removing the Side Cover
You must remove the side cover to access the system board, add-in cards,
power supply, battery, memory, and internal drives.
1 From the rear of the unit, pull the metal tab shown in the next
diagram. (Upper right corner)
2 Pull the top of the cover away from the unit about two inches, then
gently lift out the cover.

I also have a sony vaio but in replacing my drive I only had to remove the one side and two screws. Then push the drive from the front. the drive is "clipped" in there." It will come loose and just remove and replace. Good Luck

Step 1: Make sure your System Software is Fully Updated from the Microsoft Website. May take several trys to be 100% complete. Step 2: Right Click My Computer | Select Properties | Goto Device Manager | Open the Universal Serial Bus Controllers by hitting the Plus Sign. You will see multible USB Host Controllers. Now we need to update the Drivers by Right Clicking each one... one at a time and selecting Update Driver Software. You will need to do it for each one... even if it finds nothing or keeps the same driver. ReBoot... The Key here is the MS Updates... it will force the update on the USB Ports.

By enlarge copy do you mean make the text appear bigger? If so, holding "CTRL" and scrolling the mouse ball upwards will make the text appear bigger.

What is your pc make, DEll, or acer, in all branded pc it same case is hard to open, in most common pc cases, ther is a push lock on the bottom or in in the side that you need to push and then simultaneously slide the case.

Use an original windows cd insted of the rescue cd,,
if those dont work,
You will need to replace your harddrive,
and this might render (streess the word might) your recovery cd useless in which case you will need to get another windows cd..

Gotcha... it MAY be a internal ribbon cable to your screen is loose (or not seated 100%) OR sometimes a cable one conductor inside the cable breaks and acts like a switch ~ providing a OK display sometimes ~ or not. A PC repair shop will take a quick look for you for X-Bux and IF it is a loose connector/ribbon cable they MAY be able to fix it for you on the spot... A decent camera repair shop may be a answer for you too? They are very familiar with tiny screws and display repairs. Be careful though and don't spend too much... You should try a "POWERED" 4 Port USB 3.0 Hub It's important that it's a "POWERED HUB" because you need the HUB to supply it's OWN power and not depend on your Apple E to provide power to your connected USB devices! The good news is they don't cost much: $8 on eBay Auction: 202096902632 Note that they include the power supply! Many other HUBS don't. Your HUB is even LESS if you pick on the USB 2.0. Version, AND YES, each HUB MUST have it's own power supply and that's just what YOU need. The ONE thing I didn't like about this HUB is the LED lights that are provided for each port! They are TOO bright so I opened it up and plucked all but one LED out. I also bought the 8 and 10 Port HUB versions and 'fixed' them too.
