Cant reboot after failed Windows 10 update. Tried to restart with Gateway Recovery Mgt.program.

Try this: Start the computer. As soon as the "Starting Windows" screen comes up (not the Gateway/eMachines screen), hold down the Power Button to shut off the computer. This might force the computer to go in to Windows recovery mode when you restart. Now, turn on the computer, and it should go to a "Windows Diagnostics and Recovery" page. Choose Diagnose the Problem or whatever it says, follow the instructions. Good luck.

Where is the C drive slot on the Gateway FX 6840480 3e?

There is no specific slot for the C disk, the C disk is your primary disk where you put your OS installtion, if you have a second disk the name of that one will be D. d8dd228b4586f94a04be72d6eda74696-szjhb2bxi3sgs5pwk1tqfa4d-5-0.png

My TV won't play the sound from my laptop when I hook it up with HDMI cable.

Connect the hdmi (in) to the TV and the computer hdmi. Go into the sound settings (control panel or settings in Windows... preferences on a Mac) and choose the hdmi as the playback device. Also check the volumes on your TV and computer. If you said what OS and what version of that OS you were using, I could be more specific.

Gateway md7335u any way of getting hdd password? Is there a factory set originally

This is found I think in its Bios which is pressing whatever key gets you in there like F2 or Delete etc just after powering it on but before system boot up and would be under security tab. Though this would require knowledge of its original password to remove and replace it. The only way I have done it is a bit "rough" it involves the removal of the back up battery and not switching on for (or leaving it with any power at all) for say 24 hours or longer (depends how resiliant it is) this will cause the Bios data to "forget its settings". You can of course write down settings before you do this but there is a default entry at the last settings to restore some back to a working normal. It should also forget passwords stored, when you power it up after battery removal and powered it down and it then wakes up in a "mood" like saying it needs to be reset by you, power off and refit the back up battery power on and enter its Bios to reset what is needed like the clock etc which will have gone back to 00:00 plus a date which will tell you how old its Bios basic program dates from out of interest. Any settings you do will be remembered for next time. How to Reset Your BIOS Start with this to see whats needed look into other versions as one may be nearer yours. Read up on it before you start so you get an idea of things to do but the "default settings selection" will get you out of trouble if a panic sets in. Hope this helps.........

My old gateway needs help! I tried to wipe it and reload ?????

Hey man ~ been there, done that... Here is what I recommend: From a DIFFERENT WORKING system find (and download) ALL of your drivers to a TEMP folder. Also fetch your favorite tools, Chrome and Firefox installers (small programs (and such))... Copy ALL of that to a new CD! BE SURE you include the latest NETWORK and WiFi Drivers you can find! *** This is almost MANDATORY because there are SO many mfgs/models/and software (98-XP-Win7 etc etc) that we can't hope that WINDOWS will have ALL of them on your Windows Install disk!! *** You will need a BOOKABLE CD Version of Windows. The bummer IS ~ sometimes MS DEMANDS that a older version of Windows is installed FIRST! NO fun... Find another "standalone" Windows installer. I am fairly sure YOU need a 64-Bit version!? Be sure you have the correct one! Next TOTALLY REFORMAT your Laptop Drive and DO NOT be tempted to use the "Quick Format"! The SLOWER method CHECKS EACH SECTOR for quality as it Formats and IF any errors are found... they are marked BAD and formatting occurs around them! NOW proceed to install Windows (7 is MY FAVORITE WORKHORSE). Use your DRIVER CD to satisfy/install missing drivers! IF you have not experienced the unhappy/frustrating feelings of WINDOWS 10 ~ trust me ~ you won't have fun with it because it's another MS "PIG" like Millennium, VISTA, 8, 8.1 and SO many others! (By the way ~ what happened to Windows 9)? Before EVERYTHING is back just as you like and UPDATED... YOU have a serious choice... Your System was provided with a 500GB Drive... You can buy a NEW drive for VERY reasonable money! A NEW 500GB is $19.99 on eBay is VERY cheap insurance! 272981026722 A USA Seller. Now CLONE your original drive to your NEW drive and SET THE ORIGINAL Laptop drive aside as your "VAULT"! Another day when things go bad, you can ALWAYS get back to where you are today! ALSO IF you buy a 500GB you can use your ORIGINAL Drive a BACKUP DRIVE! ***Use CAUTION here! IF your ORIGINAL Drive is infected ~ your BACKUP DRIVE is now infected too! *** FREE EASUS TODO makes a Bootable CD ~ and works great for this! A Link is provided below. (please disregard the reference to a ENCLOSURE below) Anthony $50 please ~ (just kidding)! EaseUS Todo Backup Free WD WD5000AADS 500GB 32MB Cache 3 5 SATA 3Gb Hard Drive PC Mac CCTV DVR...

My gateway vn53 Laptop computer, got changed from 64bit to 32 bit, how can i change it back. As of right now, i can't do anything with it. Recovery CD doesn't work, or trying to reformat. Any

You can't change the bits of the computer. The processor is set to run on a 64 bit or 32 bit operating system. Most home computers use the 32 bit operating system. It could be that the person reinstalled a 64 bit operating windows system in a 34 bit computer. If you have the operating system software and it is for 34 bit system it should install . Maybe the person changed the bios of the system the tells it where to boot from inorder to reboot from the disk. What computer do you have ? What op system are you using?

How to troubleshoot Gateway wireless keyboard and mouse?

If you are experiencing issues with your wireless keyboard and mouse not working properly, perform the following steps to troubleshoot the wireless keyboard and mouse.
  1. Make sure the USB connector from the receiver is properly plugged into a USB port on the computer. Some systems ship with the receiver already preinstalled in the unit itself. Please check your mouse to see if there is a receiver inside of the battery compartment door.
  2. Make sure wireless keyboard is not on a metallic surface.
  3. Ensure that the receiver is 8-inches from other electrical devices.
  4. Try plugging the receiver into a different USB port to ensure that the USB port is working properly.
  5. Check the batteries in the keyboard and mouse to make sure they are installed correctly.
  6. Test the batteries to ensure that they still have a charge.
  7. Verify the On/Off switch on the keyboard and mouse are switched to On.
  8. Some receivers, keyboards, and mice may have a connect button. If so, follow the steps below:
    1. Plug the USB receiver into a USB port on your computer.
    2. Press the connect button on top of the receiver and the button will blink.

Gateway setup is starting services

Your mistake was in trying to do a reinstall of windows. You could have, and should have, downloaded IE from Microsoft- either x86 or x64, depending on whether you are running 32 bit or 64 bit windows. Since what is done, is done, reformat the drive, and do a clean install from the disk with a newly formatted drive. That should work.
