Curser jumps while typing

Hi there.
The best thing to do is to uninstall the touchpad drivers, you can do this by going to the control panel look for add remove programs or programs and features, in that window look in the list for "synaptics" and uninstall it.
That should clear up the problem, if you cannot find synaptics in the add remove programs please post back.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

Reloading internet

this could be one of a few things,

in my opinion it could be:
1)you need a registry cleaner
2)you may need to check for spyware (spybots good n free)
3)you may need to check for viruses (try avg free if u have none)

it usually boils down to one of those in a windows world.

Whenever i try to install and open games,my

It should mean about the Video Card, for many games (and of course the good ones) you need a good video (graphic) card to run them, because a normal computer has not enough capasity to run them.
You can buy a video graphics card, but as far as I know there is no such thing for laptops, only for desktop
That means you won't be able to play the hottest games.
sorry

How to change the cd player on a toshiba L10

The cd-rom drive on most toshiba laptops has one screw on the bottom or on the top under the keyboard that you simply remove and you can just pull the cd-rom drive out and put another one in. Below is a website that has dismantling instructions.

There are no any sounds

First thing make sure you check the manual volume control just on the inboard side of the shell. It's sort of buried below the surface of the shell.
Drivers should be pretty well the same for xp home or pro I think.

Computer turn on but is dead, why ?

if you power up the computer and get no video remove the memory and reinstall making sure you have it seated right. if still not working then you have a bad motherboard this is fairly common problem with toshiba laptops they have problems with the ram sockets going bad and it means replacing the motherboard.I hate to tell you this but the two brand of laptop i stay away from as much as possible is toshiba and sony.
sony being the worst of the dead motherboards and toshiba coming in pretty close behind.
wish i could tell you something better but i see alot of this.look on ebay you may be able to find a replacment board there cheaper then at toshiba.
I may have something around the shop to i have a couple of toshiba with busted screens,i check model number to see what they are tomorrow

I want to connect my Toshiba satellite laptop to my flatscreen TV

Hi there
It depends on the TV really, if the TV has a VGA port on the back then what you will need is a male to male VGA cable, you will not get any audio however so you will need R/L phone to mini stereo jack lead also.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!

The video card is replaceable and is relatively simple for those comfortable with laptop disassembly.

Probably impossible. Most laptop graphics chips are soldered directly to the motherboard requiring a new motherboard if one dies, and very few are actual "cards." That being said, it looks like your's is a nVIDIA GeForce4 420 Go which might be a card. I'll do some research and find out.
Comment posted on May 22, 2008 Well if you look at picture for Step 25 here:
http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/Toshiba-Satellite-Pro-M10/replace-laptop-motherboard-3.htm

It does say that it's the "video board." It looks like it's replaceable, so if you can find a replacement card then it should be possible. Unless you are very comfortable following the guide starting at:
http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/Toshiba-Satellite-Pro-M10/replace-laptop-motherboard.htm

I wouldn't recommend it.

Toshiba Satellite Pro M15-S405 Memory upgrade problem

This usually happens when the laptop is not able to take more then a certain amount of memory, as the system BIOS does not support higher. By saying ACPI as the blue screen, that tells me that the power subsystem does not 'like' having more then 512MB of RAM. I am 95% sure this is your BIOS because of that information. Check and see if you can find a BIOS upgrade for your computer model, and that might fix the issue, if an update is available.
