You can only preset stations one by one. First, you can do a full scan for all stations in range. Press and hold the Stop button on the unit. Press Play/Pause to start the scan. (There are alternate methods using the remote control. See page 17 of the manual.) Press Fast Forward or Fast Reverse on the unit to navigate through the stations that have signal. To set a preset, tune in a station using the Tune+/Tune- buttons on the remote or Fast Forward/Fast Reverse. Then press and hold Prog/Preset on the remote. When you see ##Empty or a preset number, use Tune+/Tune- to select one of the 20 preset storage numbers. Press OK/Play/Pause to save the preset. (If using the buttons on the unit, press Fast Forward/Fast Reverse to select a preset location. Press Play/Pause to save. You will see Stored on the display in either case, if you successfully saved the frequency to the location. Hello Charles. Maybe you use the wrong pickup system. Normal Phono inputs are just for MM-Systems. MC-System needs other Pre-Amp. Some newer Amps have a switch (mostly near the Phono inp.) to select MM- or MC- system. (MM means Moving Magnet-Sys. and MC is Moving Coil-Sys) Best Regrets Gue.

Most platters and turntables use a friction fitting. Basically It's pushed on. The centre spindle has a slight taper on it so the platter grips tighter the farther down you push it. Lift the lid out of the way, off altogether if you can. Get a helper to hold down the body of the turntable with one hand and push their thumb of the other hand down on the tip of centre spindle. While they do this you grip the outside edges of the platter on opposite sides and firmly pull UP. **Caution** The platter might let go suddenly so warn your helper AND be ready for it.

That label on the lower right of your photo shows the polarity connections. It looks like the (+) is on the inner connector and the (-) is on the outer or shell. You need a 12 volt power supply of at least 1 amp rating. You can buy a power supply from radio shack that will have different plugs so you can choose the one that fits. Just make sure the polarity is set correctly. If your not sure bring the turntable into radio shack and ask him for a power supply for it.

There is most likely a fault in the power supply that is causing the amplifier to go into protection. This receiver more than likely has a switching power supply you can tell by the weight of the amp. Heavy = linear power supply and light = switching power supply. Common problems with switch mode power supplies are the FETs used for switching and the PWM (pulse width modulation generator) If you know someone into electronic repair it should be too difficult. The FETs won't be cheap. Though. All in all the unit should be no more than 100 dollars to repair between labor and parts.

There is a plastic adjustment screw on the inside of the lid, turn it in 1/2 turn and try.

RECHARGE IT
