My lexmark s405 printer do not turn on
If you are encountering power problems with your printer, please
go through the following checklist:
- Make sure the power cord is
plugged in securely and directly to the power outlet. Power surge
protectors can draw power away from the printer.
- Disconnect the power cord from
the power outlet and the back of the printer and then reconnect it.
- Check the power supply box (if
there is one) to see if it is warm or cold, as there could be a defective
power supply issue.
- If there is access to a
voltmeter, test the power supply to ensure that it registering the correct
amount of voltage (most Lexmark printers have a 30Volt output).
- Make sure the correct power
supply is connected to the printer.

I can't get the fax to work on S405 all in one - did work but now has decided not to but I haven't changed anything!!
Please try this approach:
- Try to resend the fax. There may have been a problem with the quality of the connection.
- Decrease the transmission speed of your fax modem. Press Setup button > Fax Setup > Dialing and Sending > Max Send Speed > 9600. Resend the fax.
- Re-register your user information - fax name and fax number. Some fax machines block faxes without sender information. Press Setup button > Fax Setup > Dialing and Sending > Your Fax Name (re-enter your fax name). Follow the same steps and go to Your Fax Number - re-enter your fax number. Resend the fax.
I hope this helps.

Fax only sounds as if its online and wont send out my fax
Try this approach.
- Re-brick your printer by
pulling out the power supply - the black box where the power cord is
plugged into.
- Disconnect the power cord from the power outlet.
- Plug the power cord to a different known working power outlet. Bypass any power surge devices or power strips - these tend to draw away power from the printer.
- Re-plug the power supply into the printer.
- Ensure that the fax telephone cable is properly plugged in and secured into the printer and into the phone jack in the wall.
- Try to send a fax again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Cannot get a wireless connection
Wireless
communication issues could be due to wireless signal quality, signal
interference, firewall, etc. Make sure your printer is positioned where it
receives excellent wireless signal strength (avoid physical obstructions
whenever possible) and away from appliances which emit wireless signals (e.g.
microwave ovens, cordless telephones, baby monitors, and other wireless
electronics) that may cause interference. Make sure to allow full
access to all Lexmark software and printer communication processes in the
program rules/permissions for your firewall.
Also, you may refer to this article on the Lexmark website about How to identify a Wireless Communication Problem and Resolution Tips.

Printer won't download application list for
A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by
resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer
from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and
re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns
on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again
once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on
the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).

Removing something in a lexmark s405 how to dismount the printer
It's really not advisable to open the printer apart. However, if you are physically able and willing, carefully turn the printer upside down. Make sure to hold all movable printer parts so it won't fall on you. You may shake it a bit so the pin will freely fall off the printer.I hope this helps.

Lexmark S405 refill cartridge reset
When a Lexmark cartridge is refilled, it will not be able to report its ink level. Please note that all Lexmark printers work best when original supplies or genuine Lexmark cartridges are used. We do not recommend the use of third party, refilled or remanufactured cartridges - you might not get the print quality you expect from ink that is specially formulated by Lexmark.

My Lexmark Interpret S405 fax?copy machine picks
It seems that you're sharing your home phone line with your Lexmark fax machine. You can adjust the "pick-up" ring from the printer operator panel by pressing the Setup button > Fax Setup > Ringing and Answering > Pick Up On > select your preferred number of rings before the fax answers. Please note:If you have an answering machine connected to the same line as the fax, set the answering machine to answer incoming calls before the printer does. Increase the number of rings by a factor of 3 over the answering machine. For example, if the answering machine is set to pick up on 4 rings, set the printer to pick up on 7 rings. If you have a voicemail feature in the same line as the fax, you may subscribe from your phone service provider for a distinctive ring pattern feature. You can program your printer to have a distinctive ring pattern and phone number for incoming faxes.Should you still need assistance, please leave a comment to my response and I'll get back to you. Should this resolves your problem, your rating will be greatly appreciated.

Please follow the steps below on how to print on an envelope:
- The print side of the envelope is faceup.
- The paper guides rest against the edges of the envelopes.
- You print the envelopes with Landscape orientation. Note: If you are mailing within Japan, then the envelope can be printed in Portrait orientation with the stamp in the lower right corner or in Landscape orientation with the stamp in the lower left corner.
