It sounds like the cpu cooling fan inside the laptop is going or has gone bad. When you turn your laptop on check and see if the fan is working... If it's not, then it must be replaced. If you can unscrew any panel underneath, use a duster can and spray thru the fan exhaust and every crevice you can find. Just don't touch any internal component with your fingers as you may short it. Probably accumulated too much dust or maybe the fan is dead?

Upon checking the specifications of this Compaq Presario CQ60-220, it appears that it doesn't have a Bluetooth chip built-in to it. That means that the computer is capable of Bluetooth technology but you need to have a USB Bluetooth Adapter (see image below).



To make sure if you have Bluetooth installed, open the Device Manager (click Start > type Device Manager) and look for Bluetooth. Some computer brands have a Bluetooth sticker at the bottom casing to indicate that the computer has a Blueooth device installed.

The more fans are, the more cool your laptop will be.Also you should know that cooling pads have various dimensions, so you should check your laptop measures. A good thing for you to know is that the best cooling pads are manufactured from strong, resistant materials like aluminium or stainless steel, and you should avoid the ones made from plastic, glass, cloth, or cardboard. It could possibly (but rather unlikely) be a virus. However, it sounds more like the keyboard is jammed / broken. You can get replacements online, but fitting them could be an issue, i'd suggest taking it to a tech repair shop and getting them to swap the old keyboard out for a new one. This should fix the problem.

You could try plugging in an external keyboard via USB and seeing if this makes a difference.

If the normal login in screen is still partially visible under a bright light, you may have a faulty backlight. Get your machine checked.
The way to work around it could be to wait until the computer has started up (look at the hard drive light) and then put your machine into standby by closing the lid or pressing the power button (according to your settings). When you start back up again the screen should turn on as normal.

By go dark do you mean it turns off? If not, LED lights on the front of the laptop continue to stay on, but the screen goes dark, this could mean the backlight of the screen is going bad. It might be intermittent, but, a screen consists of two elements, the display itself, and the backlight which is what makes the image bright. If you bring it into a well lit area when it is dark and tilt the screen back and forth, you might see the faint image on the screen. Sadly, screen repairs are expensive, easily exceeding $300 most of the time. It is often a better idea to replace it rather than repair it.

Check for the presence of a recovery partition first, select Start > Computer. If the partition is present, an HP Recovery drive is listed in the Hard Disk Drives section of the window.
If your computer came with SSD (Solid State Drive) it may not have a recovery partition. If so, then you need to request for the recovery disc from HP. If ever you have the recovery partition on your computer then we can recover that back to it's factory state by following the steps below:
On some models, you can perform a recovery from the partition on the hard drive from either the Start button or f11.

It's LCD problem

ONE DAY WHEN I WAS CARRYING MY LAPTOP MY LAPTOP FELL DOWN ANT NOW WHEN I AM TRYING TO LOGON WINDOWS IT IS WORKING, BUT ONE RED LINE IS COMMING ON MY SCREEN PLEASE HELP ME REGARDING THIS PROBLEM,THANK YOU.

Your television may have multiple HDMI ports. When going through main menu on the television, look to see more than 1 HDMI entry (typically numbered HDMI, HDMI2 etc). Try all HDMI available on the television until you see a picture of your notebook's desktop on the television.

It might be that your Laptop is not seeing the CD drive in the Device manager this happens sometimes the best quick fix is to use Doug Knox excellent tool to restore the drives in Device manager.

Print screen is located at the upper right side,in between wifi key and pause key,named "prt sc"

Power cord? In fact if the power cord is bad you will not had a battery charge either,so check this.Also Did you plug the power without the battt? Is this power up th lap? If not the Power cord is the problem. If you need more help post back! Thumbs and testimonial are welcome!

if you flip it over and remove the hard drive cover you will see the internal battery...that needs to be replaced if you are getting that warning.......if its getting hot it possibly needs to just be cleaned out (blown out), yet there is a overheating issue on various HP (Compaq) models where the video chip gets hot and the unit shuts down or has problems booting up

hold the power button or click on start and scroll 2 d power icon then click on restart.
