I have a 1995 yzf 600 and it was dropped lightly on side. It still started after that. I removed the gas tank and had it repainted. I put it back on and now it wont turn over. I checked the plugs and there seems to be no spark. I just ordered some ignition coils, and im going to replace them to see if thats the problem but i have no idea what else it could be. I do know there is gas getting to the the carbs because when i try to start it you can smell it.any help would be greatly appreciated.
Is the kill switch on? Good battery? The side stand should be up. Is the choke on? Is the bike in neutral? Have you checked the fuses? Headlight should be off.
Get new stock plugs from the dealer. Check to see that the choke will open and close properly. Drain the carbs then remove and clean the fuel valve water trap bowl. Check the wiring harness for unplugged wires and loose connections. When was the last time you installed an air filter?
I had the same prom when I painted my bike ,I had to put in new plugs, clean the tank out and the carbs ,check the feul pump wire conection see if it connected right ? add new fuel not old ,turn on flick your reserve switch on and off to fill the carbs up ,and to listern to the tank to hear if the feulpump is working ,if not check all wiring ,if so crank it should fire up ,don't crank it over with no feul in carbs it will just flatern your battery good luck ,
