I was out for a days ride. bike performed perfectly on the way. i stopped at one town for a few hours. i got back on the bike and rode hard for about 10 -15 mins. came over a rise in the road and tapped off pulled the clutch in and geared down to stop, i went into 4th and noticed the oil light came on and the bike died. when trying to start the bike now the motor does not turn over but i hear a clicking sound of the a relay. there is 12 volts on the battery and if you doe a volt test on the starter its just over 2 volts. oils levels seem to be fine. i put 500 mls in and the indicator seems over filled. have tried to push the bike in 5th gear but the bike does not move and the engine does not turn over, maybe its just too much compression. the lights, indicator and hooter are all working. what can the problem be?
SOURCE: Running rough , oil light came on, then stalled at stop lights.
hi m8,,took a look at this pretty pic u have and thought i add one of these,,see wot the prob is,,hope im not gonna be the bringer of bad news mr, seems to me the oil pump in the sump has seized,,while riding it if it felt tight wen it stopped, then that aint good,, but u can change these with out takin the moter out, drain the oil,, sump off and clutch out, to get to the nuts on the oil pump..just means either u lie on the floor and do it, or be lucky and have a ramp,,although u will have to get some 1 to look at the shells on the crank,, or bearings and hope they havent been damaged,,there wont be damage tho if the oil u have drained out doesnt have iron filings in it, ,cheers m8,,
SOURCE: 01 gsxr that fl code came on and oil light is on.
It is not safe to drive with the oil light on, you risk major engine damage. It means low oil pressure. The FI light means a fault with the fuel injection system. You will need diagnostic equipment connected to the bike to read the fault code(s). Most likely this will be at a shop.
SOURCE: Very hard shifting and clunking into gear
hi mate try not to use fully synthetic oil use semi synthetic and if its clutch slipping you will tell because when you put it in 1st gear it will jump forward or move a little bit but if not then your clutch is perfect also check chain tension if to tight will cause clunking good luck buddy :)
SOURCE: My bike was running perfectly and then just stopped.
check for spark... if there is a spark it could be a fuel problem... check that the petcock is free flowing.. also try spraying brake cleaner in the air inlet... if it starts up that means that fuel aint flowing thru the carbs.. give them a good cleaning
