GSF1250 Bandit - intermitant start. Starter

there is a common fault with the 1250 bandit in that the magnets detatch inside the starter motor and it eventually breaks up and stops working, this can begin with sluggish starter especially when hot, it would appear to be a flat battery but the power required by the failing starter can drop the battery off quickly to confuse you when trying to find your fault

Suzuki gsf650 bandit 2005, display on clocks has

Bandit's analogue instruments are driven by stepper motors, so the "stuck" needle is an indicator of the loss of electrical power to the gauge (so is the blank LCD screen). Check your wiring harness, especially the connectors under the tank (you may need to remove the tank and/or the fairing for that). A wiring diagram will come in handy and if the speedometer is working properly it may help you localize the broken wire or loose connector more efficiently. Invest in Clymer or Haynes service manual, they have wiring diagrams among other info.

[*]Press the "SEL" button for 2 seconds to switch between KMH and MPH

This only works on the US models.. UK too.. most Canadian models do not have this function.

Best of luck.

Will not go above 4500 revs power loss, overheating.

It sounds as if the engine is running very lean, this can be caused by several things. Firstly the fuel filter you have installed, is it pointing in the correct direction (Fuel in and Fuel out), also is it a high pressure filter? If not remove it. Another thing that causes problems is the fuel pump could have a problem, it is also possible the gauze filter on it is clogged. Next check the fuel you have and make sure it has no water in it, to clear small amounts of water you can get a tank of ethanol, this will mix water and burn it off as you ride (Don't us a big mix E10 should be sufficient) if you don't like the ethanol, empty the tank of ethanol and refill with regular fuel.

2009 suzuki bandit 1250. bike is hunting between

It sounds like a transmission problem since it cruises fine at 6th gear smoothly. Riding around in town you are using the lower gears and not getting into 6th gear I would think. If under warranty I would deffinetly get it looked at. The term hunting is defined mainly to the spark plug wire or spark plug in any gear driven

Re fuel problem on 2007 1250 GSF Bandit.
Take out the fuel pump, and check cleanliness of screen.
It sounds like it is partially blocked to me. The screen is small and it does not take much to block it up with gunk. You should then have full fuel flow. You have to remove tank, and turn upside down, then remove the allen bolts and carefully work the whole assembly out. Be careful, because it will only slide out and in at a particular angle. You are supposed to replace the O ring seal, but I think this is on condtion. Clean the seal and put some sort of synthetic or rubber grease on it.
