SOURCE: Yamaha Fazer 600 - keeps breaking against me when riding

I suspect poor fuel delivery or starvation. At those rpms your bike requires a lot of fuel.Replace any and all fuel filters, check fuel lines for any kinks. Drain tank (petcock on pri ) then remove and clean petcock , replace. Run a bottle of techroline thru your next couple tanks of gas....Good Luck to you my friend...Tim

What might be causing the problem listed below?

Could be bad ignition module as they have a low rpm section and a high rpm section. Low side may be failing as it heats up. Hard to test for this as parts store testers may not see the problem.

when did you get the mapping tuned and what system did they use? some map equipment only stores data to 6000 RPM, and then it goes south from there.

Bike is breaking down at 7000 rpm

check all terminals esp of rectifier, put a volt meter across battery does voltage go down below 12v when you rev the bike. sounds like a rectifier problem if works sometimes and other times not, had similar on a gpz600r. cleaned all terminals and its fine now. this cure is only for if the bike is ok at times. if its like it all the time then its could be other faults. let me know..
