When you turn the wipers on do you hear any sound? If so, then you may have disconnected a ball joint in there behind the firewall - typically the top (black) panel (under the wipers/ at the back of the hood) comes off or you could find other access to inspect more thoroughly to be sure. If no sound, test the power to the wiper motor with a test light, if no power, check fuses, wiring, ground, etc.,

Where is the fuse for the windshield wipers on 2004 Nissan maxima

Some cars have these included with accessories. If your other accessories work, then your windshield wiper motor requires replacement. Otherwise, read the inside cover of the fuse box the symbol for windshield wipers looks like a windscreen with two wiper blades on it.

Windshield wipers stopped working with heavy snow cover

The windshield wiper circuit has an circuit breaker in it, under heavy load this breaker trips to protect the wiper motor, when the motor cools, the breaker resets automatically restoring proper wiper action.

clean the snow off the widows completely. they also may have frozen to the window. a very common problem. try lifting up on the wipers, each one to see if they will come on.if this does'nt help, look for a blown wiper fuse. hope this helps and never pour warm or hot water on your window to remove snow or ice!thank you for choosing fixya.com

Snow on windows and wife turned on wipers and they didn't come on 20006 maxima ..

wipers dont do very well in ice and snow after the snow and ice was cleared did they work again if not check fuse if fuse is good
First: is it the wipers, wiper arms or motor that is at fault? Most times it is the ball joint piece that comes off, disabling the wipers, and the motor is still good. This reauires replacement of the wiper arm mechanism that has the "socket" on the end, a plastic part. If it is the motor, read on... The motor is located on the passenger side, mounted on the firewall. It "connects" to the arms that move the wipers via a ball joint. The wiper arm has a plastic part that has to be "popped" off the ball of the motor to be able to remove the motor. It simply snaps back on. You facillitate this by removeing the black plastic air vent screen that runs across the engine are near the window. After removing this you will see the arms that control wiper movement. It helps to "undo" the ball/socket if the motor is loose also. Install is just the reverse.

Windshield wiper on car iced up during snow/driving could not see

You can usually avoid that by using a good quality winter mix washer fluid that resists freezing, making sure the wipers are cleared of ice before beginning the drive and using the defroster to keep the windshield warm. In extreme conditions you just need to pull over and manually clean the ice off by hand.(only do that where it's safe). There are also specially designed wiper blades that will also help a bit.
