1995 Blazer with Vortec V-6 was running fine until 4 days ago. Check engine light came on, now it starts and idles fine, but when placed in gear, idle drops, engine bogs and dies. I am targeting the Idle Air Control Valve. Is this the most likely cause of my problem, or could it be another sensor? Thanks

IAC idler air control valve bumps up the RPM and doesnot let the engine to die, how ever if its not the IAC then Ide be looking at the TEMP sensor which migh have a fair line crack or may be the MAF mass air flow sensor might be bad, seems like the engine is not geting air, check the air filter first.

    There is no such thing as an IAC or a MAF sensor on a 95 vortec V6. However, there is a IAT (Intake Air Temperture) sensor, and a MAP(Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor. The MAP sensor changes the fuel delivery and timing. The IAT sensor is for regulating the exhaust-gas recirculation, And it cause long hard starts, fuel economy and spark knock.

Hello I have a 1995 Sonoma 4.3 with 150.000 on her and she ran great tell last week went to pick up a lite trailer and dove it home no problem drove it all day after that. The parked it running fine and next morning it won't hold a idle but clears up at 3000 RPM runs fine drop in gear and it won't stay running??? Cleaned TBI and there was a new fuel pump and filter put on it less them 7.000 miles ago. Found vacuum leak on the booster to manifold fix that still runs like it is misfiring??? Any help would be great thanks no check engine light on.

1993 s10 4.3 starts fine, while idling it dies. sometimes i have a hard time restarting. the blazer died a couple of times while driving.fuel pump is good, tuned up, remanuf. injectors 1 yr ago,engine lite...

only half way there if you have a tbi check the crank sensor/ cam sensor that is the first line of business on that truck if the crankshaft sensor fails the truck stops dead when you wait a few minutes the sensor re energizes and the truck will work again for a bit antiknock can cause similer problems but not while the truck is running

Get the codes pulled, often an oil change place has all of the adapters. You need to know what the computer thinks is wrong, before you do anything.

Engine skipping/misfiring, engine light flashing

Drive it into a dark place, or wait till dark. When it's running poorly, see if you can see any spark flying around. It sounds like plug wires.

4.3 L vortec firing orcer and wiring diagram

you need the firing order?? it is 1, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 clockwise. Number one on cap is forward position, or 6 o'clock position, just left of the hold down bolt.

nothing ..normal low pressure at idle while hot ...but really should be thinking fresh oil change and filter soon..also what are the RPM's at idle hot in gear with A/C radio and other accessories running?
