I have a 1997 Chevy Blazer. I am putting in new stereo have one plug in that only has one wire green and white have no place to plug it in my new harness. What is that wire for please?

This simple task often doesn't have the results you expect because the stock radio is part of the computer system and the radio is monitored by and driven by the BCM. Things like Warning Chimes and Clickers are driven from the BCM and played via the stereo speakers. No gas coming out the injector and there is gas

Is there an injector pulse going to the injector?(an electrical pulse to fire the injector).
Is there spark at the plugs?
If the pickup in the dist is faulty you won't have either one.
If your vehicle uses a crank pickup with or instead of dist pick up....if it is defective ....no pulse.
The above is 90% cause of no pulse....other is computer problem 10%.
If you do have a injector pulse and no spray.....and have fuel pressure....change the injector.
A quick check for spark is spray a little starting fluid in it.....if it starts on the fluid....spark is present.

My 1997 chevy blazer failed

The OBDII / OBD2 connector is 18" from the center of the center console.

You will need to purchase an OBDII scanner/reader to read these codes.

The alternative method is get a OBD2 cable and a laptop + software to pull the codes.

===
An inexpensive OBD2/CAN bus reader around $75-$120 is a good start.

Did the inspector mention anything about drive cycle or lack of stored readyness fields?

Please email on why it fail. You can append more info by click the button on TOP RIGHT of this page.

On my 1997 Blazer the rear hatch class wont open by key or botton so what could i do to fix it

The easy way to open the glass without tearing up the tailgate panel or ripping out your carpet: Pull back the interior tailgate panel right above the bump in the middle where the latch is. There are no screws or boltsicon1.png in that area, so it should pull away about 2 inches. Then you'll have to reach in and push down the release bar. You should be able to feel for the part that needs to be pushed down to release the glass. Now that it is unlocked, you will be able to open the hatch and the tailgate. Once open, remove the interior tailgate panel, which has one screw on each side. The failed actuator that needs to be replaced is not all that expensive and can be found at the dealer.

My 97 blazer will not start battery is hot has a new starter on it new neutral safety switch and starter relay do you think it is in the column

Probably not the column, it is probably the PASSLOCK system. If I remember right, the blazer/ Jimmy were a bit special. If you have a stereo shop close by that installs remote start systems, give them a call.

How to set timing on a 1997 s10 blazer 4.3 vortec.

The reason there are two timing marks on the balancer is because you can line up the top mark with the mark on the timing cover and the bottom mark with the mark on the block. This is top dead center for number 1 cylinder you dont need to crank the motor over with your finger over the no 1 plug hole or watch the valve springs on number one cylinder anymore now they have made it simple just line up the marks and you are at tdc no1 cylinder if you want diagrams email me. Good luck!
