I HAVE A 1995 DODGE NEON THAT GIVES ME A CODE 12 LOST VOLTAGE SUPPLY TO PCM. I ALSO GET A CODE FOR 54 THAT INDICATES A BAD SIGNAL FORM CAM OR CRANK SHAFT I HAVE REPLACED BOTH OF THESE BUT THE PROBLEM COMES BACK EVERY 2 - 3 MONTHS. I REPLACE THEM AND CAR RUNS SMOOTH. NOT SURE WHAT TO DO I ALSO SWAPPED CUMPUTER AND ELECTRICAL HARNESS.

Try checking your connectors again .sounds like a bad pin at he ecm when the problem comes back test the voltage going from crank sensor to ecm . an old pinched wire will do the same off n on also

You need to use a LED type test light for the injectors or a Bosch style Noid light for the injector. To test the cam/crank sensor signal you either need a scanner to read them or a lab scope to show you a signal. The pickup plate in the dist handles the injector timing, the crank sensor provides a RPM signal. They both feed the computer information for ignition timing. Good fuel pressure, injector activity(Noid), and good spark out of the coil. The coil is what I replace the most of.

SOURCE: Blinking Check Engine light

This is typically a sign of a "detrimental misfire". A blinking check engine light means DON'T DRIVE ME! You may want to have your coil pack checked, plugs replaced or gapped properly, or wires replaced. Would also have to do with the camshaft sensor causing your timing to be off.

First, the easy way is to just bypass the relays all together. Install a switch on the inside of the car like you would fog lights. This will solve the problem of replacing thing after thing and wasting money. Just a $7.00 fix. After doing that unplug all the sensors and then the battery for at least 60 second to reset the computer. Than restart the car and the check engine light should go out, may take a day or so. Same thing with your gas cap, re-securing it will take a day or so for the light to go out. Good luck. I love my '97 neon.

SOURCE: have code p1391 and p0340, replaced both sensors

had similar problem with 99 ram. i made holes in crank sensor a bit bigger,removed rubber seal that sensor goes through in trans,installed 1 bolt and adjusted sensor back towards firewall and tightened that 1 bolt and its worked fine ever since

Could be something else ,crank sensor or cam,or ign.rotor ect.
The module like 3 hundred bucks.Try this ,turn the key
on-off-on-off-on( without out hitting the starter) the check
engine light should begin to flash.

How do I test the camshaft sensor for my 2004 dodge sx2.0?

1995 Dodge neon. no power to coil pack. no dash lights.

check the ASD fuse in the fuse box under the hood. just switch it with another relay just to see if car starts. if it does its the relay. On the ASD, if this is a typical relay of the '95 era you can jump directly from 30 to the other side of the socket to by-pass it for testing purposes. good-day !

I have a 2000 dodge durango that wont start. I changed the crank shaft senser and the cam shaft position senser and the cap and rotor button but still wont start

Have you checked for your DTC code?? The code may help you address the issue that is keeping your engine from starting.

ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS

1. Cycle the ignition key ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON within 5 seconds. To cycle the ignition key ON means to turn it only as far as it takes to get the radio to come on. It does not mean to turn the engine on.

2. Count the number of times the "check engine" lamp on the instrument panel flashes on and off. The number of flashes represents the code. There is a slight pause between the flashes representing the first and second digits of the code. Longer pauses separate individual codes. For example, flash-flash-flash [pause] flash-flash represents the code 32.

A code of "55" represents end of error codes. If this is all you get then no error codes are stored in the computer. This is the normal condition for a neon.

CODE 12 Problem with battery connection. Direct battery input to pcm disconnected within the last 50 ignition key-on cycles.

CODE 21** Problem with oxygen sensor signal circuit. Sensor voltage to computer not fluctuating.

The 12 is not problem, just advise that your battery has recently disconnected; the repeat 21, maybe can be for two O2 sensor, review it.

the light has nothing to do with oil or coolant levels. it comes on for one of the following reasons. You will need to have the system computer memory tested to see which fault the system has.
