The cable in the regulator has broken or the electric lift motor died. get a new regulator from a parts store or ebay, take it to a glass shop and pay them 50 bucks to install it.

Auto windows. 1995 ford mustang. i need to know how to fix as it has slipped of the track

Or your window actuator may have a lock up issue/shot. Very common in late model fors cars. Fairly easy fix if you have a set of basic tools a manual for your stang and lastly a replacement part. Try rockauto.com not too expensive there last time I replaced mine in 2006. Was the window having issues prior to it happening or was this issue a sudden thing?

in late 90s GM products the rear window regulators were prone to a cable break which mimics the problem you speak of. perhaps they never updated the technology. you will be better off to buy a new set of regulators, take them and the car to an auto glass shop and pay them to install them for you. get the parts from a parts store or ebay. these will be about 400 per side at a dealer and half that if you do it per my suggestion. would not hurt however to call a dealer and see if there was a recall on them.
taking these doors apart and replacing the regulators requires special tools and fasteners, while you can do it yourself it will be the best 50 bucks you ever spent paying someone with the tools and know how to do it for you.

2001 Ford Escape rear passenger window will not go up. Took inside door assembly apart and it appears the cable has come undone. We need a diagram of what it's suppose to look like, so we can fix it.

It most likely has a broken part on the cable and will need to be replaced or jump off again.
The dealer can print you a pic at the parts counter.
