The car does not have a dip stick... what do you do to reset the level - I.e. tell the computer to verify the oil level after an oil change?

Look in your iDrive, under service information (it should also be in your manual). It should tell you how much oil is in it and how much oil you need (if needed) to add. Per the dealership, the car automatically prompt you to add a quart of oil for every 3,000 miles driven.

I by fault put 1.5 quarts of oil to much in my 99 Cadillac deville and then I removed about 3.5 quarts. What do I need to do to get my car back the right way

Your car should have a dip stick that tells you where the oil level is. Use that to determine how much oil you need to add. Add 1 qt at a time until the oil appears on the dip stick, then add the oil slowly, checking the level until it is in the hash marks on the dip stick. If there is no dipstick, drain the oil and measure the oil using a gallon or quart containers and add the recommended amount. Remember there is already about 1 qt of oil in the filter.

How many litres of oil in a E51 2003 nissan elgrand please for oil change

Should hold 4.3 liters if dry. With an oil change and filter replacement, I would add 3 liters, check the oil level and add the 4th if it will fit based on the dip stick measurement. Then run the engine, check for leaks and stop the engine to check the oil level again. Add oil to the appropriate level on the dip stick.

When i start the car dashboard flash oil but my engine oil on dip stick is full what is the problem

I strongly suggest you read the vehicle handbook to fully understand the meaning of the light or indicator.

If the indicator is telling you the oil level is low, the computer might be just testing the system or the oil level sensor might be sticking or faulty.
If the indicator is telling you the oil pressure is slow to build, again it might be a circuit check or it might be an important warning.

A third possibility is a warning the oil filter is ready for a change.

My oil light came on could you tell why

hi there
your oil light comes on for one of two reasons either it is low on oil or your vehicle is ready for an oil change you can check the oil level by pulling the oil dip stick when vehicle is not running there will be a fill line on the dip stick the oil level should be at full if it is not add oil if it is full it is ready for a oil change most likely it is just low on oil hope i have answered your question and have a wonderful day thanks for using fix ya

When do i need to change oil

Most all GM cars and trucks, Now have a Smart Oil Life Monitor System. Your Oil Life Quality (not quantity) is now determined by the Car's on board computer. By your driving habits, speeds, temperature, distance, time, etc. Your Car's computer knows when the Oil is 'worn' out and needs changing. Read the fine print in owners manual for how to reset it. GM owners manuals are available Free online, for reading or printing. Free, Free. Now you still have to pull the dip stick and check the oil level every tank of gas of so. The computer won't do that for you.

Is there a ''stick'' to check on the level of transmission fluid in vehicle? Where's is the level stick for the transmission fluid? is there one? When Do we change the Transmission Oil on Car and Where is...

1st off your trans doesn't have a dip stick, it is a sealed transmission, to check level you need to have the dealer hook up a scan tool and then verify trans fluid temperature is at at least 175-185 degrees for correct level check, then there is a inspection plug they access on the top of the trans for a level check. The fluid and filter should be changed around 60,000 miles
