Information regarding this question can be found in the owner's manual which can be viewed online. This is the normal procedure for any vehicle: 1). Park the vehicle on a level surface. 2). Turn off the motor. 3). Open the hood and locate the engine oil level dip stick. 4). Remove the dip stick and wipe clean with a dry cloth. 5). Reinsert the dip stick and make sure it is firmly bottomed out against the stop. 6). Remove the dip stick and observe the oil level indicated. The oil level should be in the hash marked area between the "full" and the "add oil" markings on the stick. 7). Be sure to replace the dip stick.
Your vehicle is equipped with a low oil level sensor and a warning light on the instrument panel which, when working properly, will alert you when your engine is between 1.5 to 2 quarts low on oil.
Operating a motor vehicle with low oil level will cause serious internal engine damage, up to and including catastrophic failure.
The dip stick has markings on it showing the level it should be at.
