My 2005 Chevy Malibu's 6 CD changer will not play CD's, and will not eject them either. When I press the eject button it appears to try and eject as I hear movement but after a short bit of clicks I get a Error message on the display. I tried shutting off and turning the power back on but didn't try anything else so I wouldn't compound the problem. The radio works fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Extreme heat can cause warping and the cd will not evenly eject or exit the slot. the player may have to be removed and the cd physically extracted from the player. Delco players have a lot of plastic cogs, flywheels and gears in them that get old and crack or split. Hence, the player can no longer spit out the CD.

The CD player died. Probably the magazine (the thing that holds the cd's) isn't functioning properly, crooked inside the radio. Needs the radio repaired or replaced.

Chevrolet 2005 Malibu. CD is stuck in the stereo. How do I remove the dash around the stereo. So I can remove the stereo to get fixed

Sometimes you can press and hold down the CD's forward and backward track buttons or play and eject buttons to release the CD. Contact your Chevy dealer and ask a Service Consultant if the Delco unit has this feature.

I have a 2005 Malibu with a 6 disc cd changer, I know the changer has 5 of the 6 disc inside it. A while back it started clicking. I removed the fuse and left it out because there was a smell like and I...

There may, or, may not be a small pinhole in the front panel of the changer. If it does have this hole, take a paper clip and insert it straight into the hole and this will enable manual ejection of the disk tray. If the hole is not there than the housing has to be removed to gain acess to the disks. Thank you, Dana

My CD player did the same thing on my 2005 Chevy Malibu MAXX LS.  I know it sounds weird, but disconnect the car battery from the car (resetting the whole car system), and then reconnect.  I pressed the eject button on the console, and it ejected my CD with no problem.

Toyota dashboard CD player won't eject

I had this say problem with my 2000 solara. Here is the fix, remove one of the car battery terminals for a couple of mins (3-4mins). The reattach the battery terminal back. This would make your cd player and car clock reset. once you start your car you should be able to eject the cds. You'll just need to reprogram all your preset radio station. Hope it helps
