Sounds to me like the A/C clutch is no good and out of adjustment. You should goto your nerrest junkyard and get a used assembly take the clutch off then you learn how it comes off and install it on yours the save the pump for later use if needed. The clutch should only have a .010 air gap after install between th inner elctro magnet and the clutch plate it's self.
firstly i think you have overcharged the Ac system as the most it should hold is 650 grms for this system on this model ,if too much gas it will click in and out and slow the engine down ,as for the gauge readings then renew the sensor its on the housing at the front in the plastic housing ,depending on year and model this is where most are ,but some later models have a sensor at the back of the head left side from front
you have a vacum leak in the 4x4 engagement system. there is a vacum solenoid on the passenger side next to the battery. should have 3 hoses to it I believe. check those hoses for cracks they go all the way to both front wheels. the ones in the wheel wells are usually messed up. if all hoses are good hook up a hand held vacum pump to each wheel they should hold about 15 hg on the vacum guage if not your wheel hub seals are leaking.
What this sounds like is an under charged unit. If you just had the work done then there is a posibility that they under charged it or it has developed a leak. That is posible. Hope this helps and good luck.
sense its a deisel i would go with the vacume pump, diesels don't put out any or very little vacume, if you don't have vacume than booster won't work hense hard peddel. when you say you let up on peddel and hit it again you got better break tells me it is not getting enought vacume to booster. i would go for the vacume pump.
fan elays are under hood in black box by battery. 3 of them. 2 for high speed, 1 for low speed. Default is high speed when there is a probem.
Suspect maybe they shorted something out when fixing dent. Did they do any welding on the van? Connecting the cables to the body can sometimes send voltage where it's not wanted.
