My 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD just began having trouble starting. It will crank and crank and finally after 4 or 5 seconds, it starts. Have never had a problem with it since 2004 when I bought it. I'm thinking it might be a fuel problem but want to get a second opinion. When it sits for a few hours or over night is when it does this. If I'm driving it for awhile, shut it off and come back a few minutes later, it's fine. I pulled the Optima battery from my Jeep and tried it and it's doing the same thing so I'm pretty sure it's not the battery. Any suggestions....?

I'll check all of that. It just started a few days ago and haven't had time to work on it. I hope it's not the timing chain. Thanks
did you make a good tune-up ( spark plug, spark plug wire fuel filter etc...) i really think this could be the spark plug but at worst this can be your timing chain depen on the millage!..please reply...lipak!!
