My 2006 Impala trunk won't open. I checked all

My 2006 Impala trunk won't open. I checked all trunk related fuses. I can hear the clicking of the actuator. I tried pushing down on the trunk lid while pushing the button in case it was closed too tight, still nothing. Any ideas? Is there a release inside the trunk, so I can open it and at least look at it?

SOURCE: Chevy Impala 2007 trunk lid release

Fold down rear seat and climb in the trunk....there is a manual release at the center of the trunk lid. (mandated by the government to kids don't get trapped in the trunk).

SOURCE: opened trunk with the trunk

sounds like the latch flipped back to the closed position, have someone hit the trunk release button while you pry it back to the open position whith a screwdriver.

SOURCE: Trunk lid will not close.

check the rubber hose that the wires pass through from the vehicle in to the trunk lid it probably has a broken wire inside. Also check wiring to the boot lock for detachment.
A bit of WD40 or similar fine oil on the lock may free it up too ifs its just stuck which may be worth a try first.

Trunk will not open with key chain button, in car button or with actual key Truck will open if I climb in from backseat and pull emergency release. 2001 Chevy Impala LS

If the key will not open it . Then the trunk lock will need replacing. If nothing opens it then it appears to be faulty.Otherwise atleast the key when all else fails should open it.Provided you have the right key and not one that does not go to your car.

Wireless Key Remote door & trunk opener won't work with trunk anymore

When you press the trunk open button, do you hear any "release" noise come from the trunk area? The issue may be a bad battery in the key fob OR there could be an issue with the transmitter located inside the vehicle. Do the doors lock and unlock properly? is the vehicle equipped with security or immobilizer? please advise

Trunk won't open

Lower the back seat and crawl into the trunk and see what the latch is doing when you activate the key fob. the trunk lid will have to be open to enable any repairs. Also an emergency release cable is probably visible (yellow handle) inside the trunk and will Open the trunk lid.

I have a 2006 chevy impala ss i took it to the dealership because my trunk wont open they said it was the actuator which got replaced and still wont open what to do now

Does it open with the key? Is it binding or sticking in some way? Did the dealer actually check it out or did just tell that was the probably the problem. Do you hear the actuator clicking like it's trying to open? If you don't hear the actuator you may want to check the fuse, the owners manual will tell you which fuse it is. Also, I'm pretty sure the trunk won't open from the drivers seat unless the vehicle is in park,

I have an 06 impala and the TRUNK WON'T OPEN. It

you have a fuse for it ,check the fuse box ,it might not say trunk on fuse panel, you might need to pull those fuses out one by one checking each one to see if blown, if the center between the two sides are broke the fuse is blown, hope this helps you, thanks robert b.

Keyless remote won't open my trunk

Dear Snueman

You ruined the release mechanism ! :(

1) Check if you hear any 'Click' when the car is idle and your ear to the trunk area......while presing the remote
If nothing than >

2)Check to see if the trunk hinges are bent - by bringing the trunk lid to the closing point ...slooowly...you can see with a flash light if the locking mechanism is off track.

3) Last but not least ....get in the trunk with a flashlight ...a bit like in a kidnap-movie
.have a ( Friendly !) relative close the trunk on you ....and watch the locking mecahnism from the INSIDE ..... if nothing found ......better get out ....!

4) Check to see if the wire leading to the engine is not cut along the line

Good luck .

Trunk wont open

MY 06 Impala tunk would not open using my key fob, or the trunk button on my car . IF you own this vehicle you know that there is no manual keyhole on the trunk. I had to remove my back seat . It is held on by two bolts. In the trunk on the trunk lid is an emergency release handle. Once the trunk is open you need to remove the lock mechanism. Take a test lightand check the wire harness. If you are getting power to the harness and the lock still does not work, you need to replace it. GM wanted 189 for a new lock mechanism, i went to a auto scrap yard. they didnt have an 06 impala, but they did have an 06 malibu. they use the same lock system.the wire connectors for the harnesses look different but it fits fine. the only drawback is my convenience light in my trunk does not work when the trunk is open. only cost 15 bucks for the part.
