I have a sqeeking sound on my saturn vue 2004 v6 and i brought it into the shop and the stabilizer bars that run up n down inside by the front tires they have sealed rubber boots for vibration i oiled them with silicone oil and now i have no sqeek if yours doesnt sqeek when it rains that is the problem probly!!
If it is not your brakes, or your rear shoes, being so they have been replaced, you may have a wheel bearing bad in the rear, or you may have a caliper that is not releasing pressure on the slides causing the brake to drag just a little. I think sense it is coming from the rear of the vehicle i am going to lean towards it being a wheel bearing. One more thing you can try, push the emergency or parking brake on half way when you hear the squeak not enough to lock up the brakes but enough so the brakes touch the drum. If the squeak stops then your parking brakes are you culprit!
Got my car checked cause it had the same sound. The car mechanic found that it is where the rear drive axel meets the drive shaft or something with the box where that meet is coming apart. the squeaking sound is the seal around that area making the sound as it moves around. next time you get it checked have them check that area.
The squeal comes from the seals where the rear drive axles enter the rear differential (AWD only) You can try to spray some lube but it is very difficult to get any into the problem area. I drilled a very small hole diagonally through the plastic dust covers at the differential and used a grease gun with a grease needle attachment to inject general purpose grease. Solves the problem for a few months each time.

The squeak sounds like a high pitched chirping bird. It remains constant while driving but becomes slower when I slow the car down and does not squeak at all when at a complete stop. We have checked all the belts so we know it is not that. It appears to be coming from the rear of the car, but I have tried leaning out of the window to pinpoint where the sound is coming from and it is too hard to tell if it is the middle or back, but it does not seem to be coming from the front. I asked both mechanics to drive it before guess fixing, but neither did. Just last week the mechanic changed the break drums because he said they were rusted and might be causing the problem. Needless to say it did not fix the problem, but I guess the drums should have been changed anyway. The front breaks were just changed in the past 6 months as well.
