try to reach up under the front of the car with your arm and try to locate the latch with the hood release cable attached to it. Use your fingers or plyers to manipulate the latch to release-pull on the cable. You may have to remove the grill to access it.

My daughter's 01 Sebring key doesn't have a chip, but the short battery cable was almost completely corroded through, acting like a dead battery. Check the cables for bad connections, too. I think both the pos and neg sides are each made of two short cables.

yea agree but first listen when u turn the key, if the fuel pump makes some noise it means u have a problem with the starter! if no sound from the pump (sound should comes from the back seats) then its pump!

i have a 2001 chrysler sebring lx got an oil change drove home now it wont start. it wont even turn over. everything works except the radio, relays and fuses r good. can anyone tell me whats wrong with it.

check connection at starter, check solenoid

you could very have a transponder key that has failed to let the circuit complete to start the car. check that with your local locksmith. also try to unlock your doors manually with key , on the driver side and turn to unlock at least three times, i know it sounds stupid but your car has a passive alarm built in that will prohibit it from starting sometimes because it was designed so well.:) good luck.

Had this problem in mine, I would say try rebooting your computer in your Car. how ?1.)removing both battery terminals 2.) go in and turn the key (this will drain power in any circuits) 3.) turn key off 4.)then for around 30 seconds then reconnect battery.

check all fuses with test light. forget schematics for now, just make sure there is power on both terminals of all the fuses. and if there isn't pull the fuse and check what circuit it controls.

When you put the key in the ignition, try giving it a few good taps right on top of they key. That usually does the trick for me. Also, always be sure the wheels are straight before turning off the ignition. For some reason, parking with the wheels turned often causes this lockup problem for me. It can be a pain, but just keep tapping and it should unlock.
