My 2005 buick cxl won't start. I am getting a error message "charging system failure" on the dashboard display. The battery seems to be working fine, everything comes on.

sorry i have been as clear as i can be, time for u to see a professional technician about this, u aren't going to fix this u say you know nothing about cars, so How can I hope top explain all this when you have no basis in terms to draw on to know what i am talking about, I am sorry but just can't help anymore.
u still did not answer my question here, does the stater turn the engine over?
what is it doing, does the engine turn over with the starter?
