99 vw passat doors will not open with remote & only 1 door will unlock sometime. rear door locks don't work most of the time.

My doors when pearshaped again and this time its a smaller problem.In the passenger footwell the wiring loom lies in a pool of water and at the factory vw connected 6 wires by crimpwelding them and using cloth insulation(very upmarket) and the water corrodes the joins which supprise supprise contains 2 joined red wires(12v posotive feed) and from the seat side of the loom the 4 door red wires joined but as they rot off so does the door assosiated with the broken wire until like me i got complete loss of 4 doors and petrol flap one morning.Just clean and solder the wires and check the loom as there are 6 connections like this.The water comes from the pollen filter which leaks as the seal perishes with age.Once repaired and the loom sealed with insulation tape your problems will bve over.Use a piece of electrical plug wire to extend any short joins to prevent a break again.
