I don't know how i locked my radio, i never tried to take out the radio and my battery terminals never came loose. I shut off my car, got gas, and when i got back in it said SAFE!!!! I tried to entera code i found online and it put my radio in safe 2 mode. I don't want to go to a dealership and pay for the code, its christmas time, im broke!!! Can anyone please help me?
If you call Volkswagen dealer they will be able to tell you thee code and are supposed to provide this service free of charge. If you have the original owners manual you should check the audio booklet for this information also. All codes are different. You can only try so many times before it is locked permanently

i don't know. make sure you have fuel and your battery tries to start truck with your head lights on. if truck is not trying to start, you could try boosting your battery. always hook up the low battery first. my car stopped once because the battery was dead. the wire at battery terminal was loose and corroded.
i have fixed an olde man's engine by pushing the vehicle's coil wire back, into the distributor cap. i had an air lock to
my fuel tank cured by temporarily loosening my gas cap.
i found gal's olde 4 cylinder Hyundai Pony, disabled along highway. i fault found broken points. i bought new points
[ $5 ], set with a dime and she went on her way.
i fault found a dead battery in disabled auto on highway. gal's rear window heater was shorting out, sucking life out of battery. friend's car quit because coil died. consider sitting quietly, stare at the Dakota, or think about why it won't run. don't be surprised if you get an idea of why.
If it's just had work done on the steering lock I would suspect that the ignition wiring has come adrift in the steering column. If the lights and radio are working the battery is probably OK. As part of the procedure for replacing/fixing the steering lock all ignition connectors are usually removed from the switch, perhaps one has come loose and fallen off the terminal connector.

FIRST TURN OFF RADIO BEFORE REMOVING NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE TO KEEP FROM LOCKING OUT RADIO.
This is a anti-theft device built into your radio designed to foil robbers. When the radio looses power, the radio locks up. This makes the radio worthless on the black market. The thieves know this and don't steal it as a result. Your owners manual tells you to clear the code if there will be a power loss (changing the battery). There may not be a recovery procedure.
In the GM (1995) version of this system, there is no recovery (if there were, what would be the point of the system?). I don't know the specifics of the Volvo system. You may want to talk to your dealer before you replace your radio. I am sure you will have to prove ownership of the vehicle.

activate the anti theft,with doors shut and locked,and the hood and trunk,wait about 1 minute,then disarm the anti theft,and try and start,see what happens,also,do not disconnect the battery,the computer can loose it`s memory.
