I have a 1996 jeep grand Cherokee Laredo. it began to stall at idle and now will not start

Check audibly the fuel pump. It will run for 3 seconds when ignition is turned on, but engine not started. If it makes noise, you could check for pressue at the fuel rail. There is normally a schrader valve you can press. Tske care, fuel under pressure will come out when pump is ok.
if ok, check for eventual fault codes with scanner.
could be crank sensor.

got spark?
test fuel work? run for 3 seconds, sprayed into intake ports.
??????
if yes, it runs on test fuel and stalls then find out why you dont have fuel.
what makes you think you even have fuel?
if there is no spark then we check the ASD relay action
and work from there, ask.

SOUND LIKE FUEL PUMP.LISTEN FOR FUEL PUMP OPERATING BY TURN IGNITION TO THE ON POSITION.YOU SHOULD HEAR FUEL PUMP RUN FOR 3 SECONDS AND TURN OFF.IF YES REPLACE FUEL FILTER.IF YOU HEAR NO FUEL PUMP NOISE.CHECK FUEL PUMP FUSE AND RELAY.IF BOTH OKAY.CODE SCAN CAR FIRST BEFORE BUYING NEW FUEL PUMP.BECAUSE FAULT IN THE THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM AND PCM WILL DISABLE FUEL SYSTEM.

1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee will start up fine but stalls only a few seconds later

The check engine light should be on--go to Autozone or a similar business that allows free use of their computer scanner and check for any stored codes. This should point you in a general sense to any current problems. Watch for any fuel related troubles like a bad fuel pump, or a plugged fuel filter. It could be a bad crankshaft or camshaft sensor, but they usually either work or don't. Don't try to 'shotgun' the problem with parts as that can get very expensive when you buy non-returnable parts. Good luck!

1994 jeep grand Cherokee limited......stalling

Hi, You may have a defective ignition coil or a glooged fuel filter and/or fuel pump. it is hard for me to say at this point. What is the fuel pressure? Are there any trouble codes pulled from the PCM?

I have a 97 jeep grand cherokee with a 5.2 start then dies 2 sec later the relay is clicking so i tried swithing the relay still same problem and still clicks i think it may be a fuel pump ?

Your fuel filter could be plugged so only small amounts 2 seconds worth get through if ti been 3 - 5 year since it was changed now would be good.

1994 jeep grand cherokee laredo starting problems

Check to see if the fuel pump is running after it shuts down...could be a relay or the pump itself (overheating internally) Checked the fuel filter yet? Some crank sensors need to be shimmed. If it's too close to the flywheel even though you recently changed it, if it's too close to the wheel it can fail again. May not be the case but worth checking over. Also check the ceramic resistor on the left fender near the master cylinder if you have one. That too can cause problems.
