I have 1992 Honda Accord LX. My speedometer does not give correct reading. It goes upto 90 mph sometime when i go app. 60 mph. Sometimes it seems to give correct mph. What seems to be the trouble(s) ?

Duplicate question. I doubt the sensor would make the engine stop running. The computer would slow down the spark timing to prevent engine knock, but not shut it off.
these car had problem with the speed sensor, it mount on the right hand side of the car, on the transmission near the right cv-axle. there is an electrical connector and there are two bolts hold it down.
-very important check for brake light when pressed (outside rear)
-did u recently change any bulb at the rear if yes recheck if it the right brake light bulb 1157
u need to do a dignostic for the d4 light and it will lead u to the problem
Are both out of the same year? Are they both mechanical or electric? Sounds like if they are electric, the sensor is not reading. If it is mechanical, you don't have the speedometer cable hooked up correctly.
