read (you meant main harness to radio sub harness.)
and car may have 5 or more harness for 5 or more very complex radio head end options new,so only the real service manual covers all that for sure,or if lucky 2nd fiddle here.
Pretty much the only thing to do is remove the harness you spliced into the incorrect harness and use crimp connectors (the GOOD ones, not those cheap plastic blue ones) to match wire-for-wire and restore the original circuitry. THEN have at the correct harness and reinstall the stereo wiring. It's a PITA all right, but it really is the best way to fix your problem.
The blue wire from your aftermarket radio that connects remote for a amp has to go to factory harness purple wire there is two purple wire so you need to try either or and it will work i just did one on an 2004 aztek
should go to any local junkyard to get the stock harness, or you can decipher and splice each vehicle wire to the appropriate wire on the stereo. If it was me, i'd go the junkyard route, much easier in the long run.
i had the same problem with overheating. the main harness going to the cooling fans from the 12v source. it is blue and attatched to the back side of the radiator. it's a bad connection causing the fans to cut in & out. remove the harness and splice the cables, and you should be find
you have to get the cable that conects your factory deck harness to the aftermarket deck, and that will allow you to use your factory speakers and amp, the wire harness is availiable at canadian tire or any stereo shop
if he had an aftermarket stereo in the vehical then he had to cut the origional harness out of the way. the only solution for this would be to replace with another aftermarket stereo. I know this becaus ei had a ***** of a time trying to install my aftermarket.
