the tcm may be faulty or has a loose ground, try swaping in another if you can get one borrowed or a cheap used one from a salvage unit

SOURCE: I want to know where the oil drainage plug is on a 1994 Holden jackaroo

I believe the 3.2 is a Honda/Acura engine and not a Isuzu engine. Are you talking about changing the engine oil or the transmission fluid? I ask because you state "the oil drainage plug" but later you mention the Automatic transmission.
As for engine oil plugs, they are almost always found low on the engine oil pan, sometimes facing the front (like my Jag), to the side (like my Ford Ranger) or to the rear like my 90 Acura Legend 2.7L V6 did. Most have a bolt with a washer that should be replaced every time. If it doesn't look like a large hexagonal bolt head it could very well be a rubber plug that is pushed in. Not a good design in my humble opinion. If you change the oil be careful not to do it when the engine is hot as the oil is also quite hot. I believe in doing it when just warm, more drains out. I find it beneficial to drain about a quart out, put the drain plug back in and add a quart of Gunk or Snap engine oil slush, start it (but don't rev the engine & DO NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE) and let it just idle for 15 minutes. Give it some time to cool then remove the drain plug and let it drain out. Next remove the oil filter. Always ALWAYS pour fresh oil into the new filter a couple of times before screwing it on, and spread a little oil on the little rubber gasket on the filter first. I recommend synthetic oil for any vehicle as it doesn't break down into coke (hard rock-like black stuff) like conventional oil does. Those coke deposits are engine killers. I like Mobile 1 extended fuel economy. Synthetic costs more but lasts longer. If using synthetic were to only extend the life of your engine by two or three years, I consider it well worth the added expense. It should reduce wear in the engine, keep it much cleaner, make it quieter, and give you better mileage because it's slicker (less internal friction).

Check with your local parts hopuse to see if they have the DAYCO belt routing booklet. We have it here in pdf for USA models only.

Hi, is it a big job to replace shift solonoids in a l430e transmission in a 3.5 V6 Jackaroo/ monterey

Big is a relative subject, you have to drop the pan and remove the solenoids, while you are in there you should check all the bushings and other consumable parts. IF you drop the transmission out of the vehicle it is easier to work on but the job requires jacks to remove and reinstall it. I have done it by myself but it is not something that is considered a small job by any means.

My 95 olds cutlass v6 3.1L sometimes wont shift out of third gear and it just completely shut off on the thruway... what does this mean?

Its possibly a bad shift solonoid on the trans itself. These trannys' 4T60E have 3 solonoids for shifting 1 for 1st and 2nd, 1 for 2nd to 3rd, and 1 for 3rd to overdrive. Its quite possible that the valve is sticking in the valve body. This can be a somewhat difficult job to do. But the solonoids arent that expensive. I would suggest a trans fluid flush and a new screen/filter and see if that helps. If you take it to a dealer the solonoid/s replacement will be around $800 or more.

96 grand am gt 3.1 v6

HI.OK THE TRANSMISSION IN YOUR GRAND AM IS EITHER A 3T40 OR A 3T45.THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT SOLONIDS (YES THERE ARE 2, GOOD JOB) ARE LOCATED IN THE UPPER VALVE CONTROL,LOCATED UNDER THE TRANS SIDE COVER . THIS COVER IS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IF THE TRASMISSION AND IS BEST VIEWED BY REMOVING THE PASSEMGER SIDE TIRE AND PLASTIC MUD GUARD.MY QUESTION TO YOU IS WHY GOING AFTER THE SOLONOIDS.I HAVE DONE MANY OF THESE TRANSMISSIONS AND HARDLY GO BAD.ANY WAY THE TRICK TO GRTTING THE SIDE COVER OFF IS TO LOWER THE PASSENGER SIDE IF THE ENGINE CRADLE DOWN AS LOW AS POSSIBLE.ONCE THE COVER IS REMOVED THE SOLONOIDS ARE RIGHT THERE,THERE IS ALSO A PCS SOLONOID AND A TCC SOLONOID (THEY WILL LOOK DIFFERENT THAN THE 2 IDENTICAL SHIFT SOLONOIDS) THEY WILL BE HELD IN PLACE W/BOBBY PIN TYPE CLIPS.GOOD LUCK SORRY FOR THE CAP LETTERS (IM SUCH A ******) RAY
