That is because the filter is inside the torque converter housing. The transmission has to be removed to access it.

Where to locate the transmission filter for 2003 Mitsubishi lancer

most transmission filters are in the pan of the transmission and unless there is a failure seldom need changing. If there is a problem with the transmission operation then remove the pan and clean the filter and while you are at it have the bands and clutch pack adjusted.

Where is the transmition filter located

Underneath your vehicle, you will find the transmission pan, underneath the transmission, and close by the engine oil pan. You will need to remove the transmission pan to access and change the transmission filter. You will then need to top it off with transmission fluid.

Where is the transmission filter on 2003 mitsubishi outlander

It is inside the transmission, you have to get under the car, drop the oil , if it has a plug, or drop the pan, oil will leak for days, 2 or 3 bolts hold the filter in place, take out the plastic plug if you find one floating around in the pan, and put it all back together.

Does my 2003 mitsubishi galant have a transmission filter if so where is it located

All automatic transmissions have a filter, which is located inside the transmission pan. To replace filter, you will need to remove the transmission pan. Before replacing pan be sure to remove any old gasket that may still be present on pan and the mount on transmission. Refill with proper type and amount of fluid...DO NOT OVERFILL
