Switched '96 bed for '07 bed on '96 Dodge Ram 2500. No brake lites with engine on or off, light switch in or out. Have running lites.Everything else works.

I switched '96 bed for a '07 bed on 2500 Dodge Ram. Now have issue with lights: have headlights, emergency flashers, both blinkers. Without key in ignition but w/2 position headlight knob pulled all the way out, brakes lights don't work, have rear running lights, you have emergency flashers, no turn signals, and you have running lights with the flashers. Press brake nothing happens. If the headlight switch is all the way in and you press the brake, you have no lights. With key in run position, the only change is you have turn signals. Any suggestions on how to get the brake lights working?

SOURCE: tail lights and brake lights not working with headlights on

We had the same problem with ours, that is a Saturn recall items. Check with your Saturn dealer to see if it is still in effect. It use to make our headlight switch get hot. I think it was a poor ground in the taillight housing, I use to wiggle the bulb plug-ins and that helped for a while, but after the recall was fixed it never did it again.

SOURCE: 1989 Cadillac rear lights stay on

It may be a turn hazard module under dash.that is the culprit! The power to the third brake light does not go through the module, but the rear brake lamps power is controlled through this module. I am looking at a drawing of one and it looks like it has two connectors with about five wires in one and six in the other. It has some cooling fins on it also.

SOURCE: dash and running lights does not work, everything

The fuse to the taillights/running lights?
It can't be a grounding problem if both taillights and dash don't work.
If only taillights don't work, it would be suspicious grounding.

SOURCE: 1994 Chevy C1500 truck. No rear brake lights

Most likely this is a brake light switch issue. Replace switch.

If your emergency flashers don't work, all flasher bulbs are fine, but flashing too fast, then check and replace Hazard light switch.

See dealer now light flashing on 07 ram 2500 cummings

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (Do not start engine).
2. Press and release the brake pedal two times.
3. Fully depress the accelerator pedal slowly two times within 10 seconds and hold it to the floor the second time.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position and then let up on the accelerator pedal.

Make sure you're not letting up on the accelerator pedal before turning the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position.

Power door lock relay 96 dodge ram 2500

Apparently your aftermarket system is installed incorrectly. The door locks should have power to them even with the ignition off. Possibly whoever installed your system used a switched power wire to power the system or if the system requires one switched and one always on power line then they have them connected backwards.

1995 dodge ram 2500 third brake light works but the rear brake lights don't work

The circuit goes from the brake light switch thru the turn signal switch and uses the same bulbs as the rear turn signals. I would check for power in and out of that switch next.

I have a 1995 dodge ram cummings 2500 truck. The truck will start, but when you turn the key switch, off the truck keeps running.

you probably have a stuck relay for the fuel shutdown. i had a 96 ram 2500 cummins that would do the exact opposite . the relays are on the firewall just above the engine and to the right ,kinda between the engine and the brake booster. it will be two relays mounted by themselves. you can unplug them and it should shut down.. i am no expert, but it took alot of trial and error for me to figure out my problem. if you follow the wires from them they will go down on the drivers side of the motor ,you will find a disconnect in this section of the harness. unplug it there.
