You will first need to remove the plastic piece behind the inner door handle that you use to pull the door shut with and there should be a 10mm bolt inside there behind the insulation. The plastic cover behind the inner door lever handle will need to come out. It's only in with clips. Remove the reflective lens on the end of the panel and you will see a phillips head screw inside. It's a long screw so be ready for many turns to get it out. Next, your power window controls will need to come out and they are only snapped into place but be careful with them because plastic prongs can be broken off if not pried out in the right direction. The same goes for the door lock switch. Unplug both once out. You will also see a triangle plastic piece (can break easily) towards the front top side of the panel. Make sure it clears it's way out when removing the panel. The rest of the panel is held up with downward facing plastic clips. Sounds hard but really it's all pretty simple. Study the back of the panel before putting it back on and take your time.

SOURCE: The heater in my 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC

You have a problem with your blend door actuator. Every year, twice a year, my husband manually moves the blend door actuator and puts a tie wrap on it so it will stay in either the heat or cool position. You can reach this through the glovebox, which you will need to remove. I had this fixed at the dealer once long, long ago - very expensive because the plastic piece that needs replacing means they must remove the seats and the whole dash area including the steering wheel to properly replace what is broken. If you want to see how that is done go here: http://www.mechanixtrix.com/Article/Article.aspx?ArticleID=145 Much easier going through the glovebox.

SOURCE: 1998 lincoln mark viii steering wheel dont return

the first thing to do is to make sure the steering is not binding up,like a balljoint or tierod , un hook the tierods and feel the turn of the wheel at the wheel not the steering wheel, make sure its not thight do the same on the other side, also take a good look at the shaft going to steering gear, ive found that the ujoints rust up and bind, causes wheel not to return, it could also be a leaking rack internally, start there, good luck.

I was given a 97 lincoln mark viii lsc that was broke down. Compression tested all 8 cylinders which revealed zero psi from all. Water in oil and cylinders are partially full of water, why?

Zero compression, engine is shot. Blown Intake and head gaskets can let water in the pistons, But usually not all would have water. Intakes can dump water in the oil also.

1997 Lincoln Mark Viii a/c not blowing from the front vents but from the top vents hitting widshield directly as if it were the defroster.

Only two possibilities, one is the vacuum hose that goes from the top of the engine, over to the passenger side of the engine and through the firewall is detached from the engine, or has a break somewhere-the other, more likely cause is the blend door arm is broken, they are notoriously weak and break easily and often on Generation 2 Mark VIII's. You can manually open the blend door if this this is the issue, but replacing it with a stronger, improved version is really the only fix.

Where is the 97 mark 8 fuel filter at

Go to your passenger side and the fuel rails can be seen right there near the edge of the car. Follow them down toward your tire and you will run right into the fuel filter.

Fuel Filter Location

The fuel filter for a mark VIII (at least in my 1993), is behind the wheelwall on the front passenger side of the car. You will need to take the wheel off and also take off the black covering by pulling out the plastic mounts and metal screws. as soon as those are removed, you will not miss the filter mounted to the inside left of the wheelwell

I have a 1997 lincoln mark viii lsc has no tail lights no left turn signal, no left brake light. Right turn signal and brake light work fine. New multi-function switch (no fix) bulbs fine. Any ideas would...

inspect all of the sockets that the bulbs plug into. you may have a short in some of them. they can get hot and melt the plastic sockets. causing the bulbs not to work. or try replacing the wiring harness for all the rear lights. i found one in the junkyard for my cougar. and it works fine now, good luck
