Yes, could be cigarette lighter fuse blowed. Check fuse no.# 42 - F42 (20A) = cigarette lighter, 12 Volts. See picture below:
For 2006 VW Jetta the fuse box is located on the left side of dashboard behind a plastic cover (for left hand steering wheel vehicle). On inner face of the plastic cover you will find the fuse diagram.
This fuse is located in the dash fuse box. Upper fuse box, top row, 3rd
from the left, a blue 15 amp fuse. On the recent models of the VW
Transporter TDI Diesel for example, the Fuse is 3 from the right hand
end. Same row, same box, same colour/rating.
under the dash on the drivers side... there's also a fuse panel in the engine compartment near the battery...and i don't know about VW but bmw's have them in the trunk as well.... so if it's not under the dash look in the trunk.
