HOW CAN I OPEN THE BOOT OF MY JEEP OR THE LIFT GLASS IF VEHICLE IS LOCKED

Push the open button and flip lat to open osition . . Sounds like it is the closed position

Check the flipper glass latch, maybe just sticking, lubricate it

Mine did this too....the latch kept getting stuck. If you put the key in the ignition and unlock the power doors, pull on the gate door (don't open it, just enough to release the latch), and it should come out so the hatch will latch.

REMOVAL

1. Remove the waterdam
2. Using a long flat blade or hook type tool, disengage clips attaching glass liftplate to the regulator
3. Secure glass in up position using a wood wedge, tape, or equivalent.
4. Remove the fasteners retaining the regulator
5. Disconnect the electrical harness from the regulator pigtail.
6. Remove the regulator. INSTALLATION
   1. Position the window regulator in the door.
   2. Install the fasteners retaining the regulator and tighten to 9 N·m (80 in. lbs.)
   3. Connect the electrical harness and regulator pigtail connector.
   4. Remove glass support and then position glass lift plate to regulator lift plate.
   5. Engage clips attaching glass lift plate to regulator lift plate,
   6. Install waterdam,
   7. Cycle the glass and check for proper operation.

you have to get in behind tailgate interior trim and pull handle lever as this has come off from the actuator,once tailgate is opened remove panel and relocate actuator bar and you might want to cable tie bar in place for the future

Give latch mechanism a good spray with white lithium grease or similar also, in case latch is sticking slightly.

Hello and welcome the problem is very simple to resolve first make sure you have battery power turn off vehicle open rear gate unlock doors go to rear gate and look at lock unlock again and push the Grey plastic lock trigger mechanism forward towards front glass close gate unlock again make sure lock is still in the position you just set it to and close glass it will the lock. Normally what happens in this situation was power was removed from your jeep and the rear gate was opened with no power running to electric lock so it stays in a set position you cannot lock the glass because there was no power in the electric lock I will lock once you reset it Hope this help.
