SOURCE: Troubleshooting code PO753 ECM or PCM.

It is more likely the solenoid, the PCM is very seldom the problem, about 3% of the time to be exact.

SOURCE: MY CAR IS NOT GETTING

Check the relay switches it can be the fuel pump switch. I had the same problem and have the same year too it is an easy thing to replace. Advanced Auto can order it for you and I suggest taking it in and having it hooked to a computer if that does not solve the issue at hand. The price on the relay switch is around 45 dollars. A starter switch is around 16 dollars try getting them both. It may or may not work but seems to be the same problem I had. Good Luck.

SOURCE: my 98 dodge avenger wont start i think its the starter pleas help

Sounds like the solenoid not grounded if you try to start and all it does is click then the solenoid is not grounded and if it's built on to the starter which it might be you might have to replace the starter. Try cleaning the wires going to the starter before you buy a new they may be corroded.

you also have a coil and a ignition module that could be keeping you from getting spark. also there needs to be a trigger to fire the system usually a crank sensor have seen it run from a cam sensor though

Code p0688

When a code P0688 is stored, it means that the powertrain control module (PCM), has detected an abnormality in the relay which supplies it with voltage. In this case the relay sensor circuit is open. Open could be translated as disconnected.
Symptoms of a P0688 trouble code include:
- Delayed or no start
- Electrical accessories may be inoperative
- Engine drivability issues
A diagnostic scanner and a digital volt/ohmmeter (DVOM) will be required to diagnose a code P0688.
Test all system fuses and relays to make sure the PCM power supply relay is being supplied with battery voltage. If constant (or switched) voltage is not present at the power relay connector, trace the appropriate circuit back to the fuse or relay from which it originates. Repair or replace defective fuses or fusible links as required.

I gat 3 cods P0129, P0685 and P0688 and then cam the "enable" I don't start the engine. What is the problem? Can you help me?

P0129-This Relates to Pressure for Barometric is too Low
P0685-This Relates to Open circuit for PCM/ECM Power Relay Control
P0688-This Relates to Circuit for PCM/ECM Power Relay Sense
I am not 100% sure that these are correct as I had to go through Chrysler settings to find this model.
I would check the airflow sensor first on the ducting from air cleaner to engine.
Check the spark plugs to ensure that they haven't fouled.
I hope this helps you,or get back to me with your results for further diagnosis.

I need to know where the PCM is located on my 1999 Dodge Avenger. It has the 6- cylinder engine.

it is under the hood, close to the battery, mounted to a bracket. If your car is an automatic transmission the bracket wil hold the ECM and TCM, if it is a 5 speed, the only one there will be the ECM.
