In a 2012 Kia Sportage, the fuel filter is typically located within the fuel tank as an integral part of the fuel pump assembly. It is not a separate, serviceable component that you can easily replace. This design is common in many modern vehicles, as the fuel filter is designed to last for a long time and is not routinely replaced like traditional, external fuel filters.
If you suspect an issue with your fuel system, it's recommended to have it diagnosed and repaired by a qualified technician or a Kia dealership. They can inspect the entire fuel system and replace the fuel pump assembly if necessary, which includes the fuel filter as part of the assembly.

add more gas to fuel tank see what happens could be the fuel pump or the fuel filter.turn ignition to the on position.listen see if you hear fuel pump running in fuel tank.if no either fuel pump fuse and relay blowed or fuel pump has failed.
