Not much. I torque them to around 60 pounds. I use locktite on them also.

Why is clutch fluid is leaking from the bellhousing out of my 2004 hsv clubsport? how do i fix this?

Hey.

The most common answer to your question is the clutch slave cylinder is mounted inside the gear box this is where your clutch fuild would be coming from.
To fix this problem you need to remove the gearbox from the vehicle and replace slave cylinder .
if you are going todo this make sure you check the clutch while its all strip down.

Peogeot 406 gearbox moves side 2side when in gear

Well either the bellhousing bolts are loose if its moving side to side and if its moving back and forewards then its the mounting at the back of the bellhousing where mounting is fitted or the bolts retaining the mounting to the bellhousing

2003 passat 130bhp tdi auto. oil leaking fromtork converter the car recently had a gearbox oil and filter change and drove perfectley but when i put it into reverse and drove it for about 50 meters all...

Hi Craig,
I'd suggest that the oil seal which seals between the torque converter neck and the gear box casing is damaged and will need replacing. The job seems simple but in fact can result in breaking the gearbox oil pump, when the torque converter is refitted to the gear box. the neck has to align with the gears inside the gear box and the oil pump, if the torque converter is not fitted correctly the damage I've mentioned will take place when refitting box.
If you would like to proceed let me know.

How do i replace the gearbox of a holden VR?

Taking out the tail shaft from the rear diff but before pulling out of the gearbox Drain the oil from the box, take out the shaft,Take off the battery earth lead, and now the starter motor.and the bottom metal plate at the bottom of the bellhousing (should be 4 small screws. and undo the 4 bolts on the flywheel metal plate which hold the torque converter on to engine. undo the bellhousing bolts and the top hose on the radiator ,and the gearbox X member and let down g/box slowley and slide it off WITH converter on the box ,
When refitting the other box its all in the reverse of removal (ALL OF IT) as well as the converter on the gearbox before it goes in as it fits on the shaft and turn it around and keep going untill it slips into the 2nd lot of splines and in line with the bell housing face.(Do not damage the g/box seal).
Let me know how you get on , Aussie Ron

I am trying to install a replacement transmission in a '98 caravan but for reason I can't get bell house to fit flush with the engine block. If I get one dowel to fit, the other one does not fit!!

the best way that I know how to do it is get them close enough to start all of the bolts a little and wiggle as you tighten them in a star pattern

'95 cutlass ciera, Mating the trans and engine?

Hi
Fit the torque convertor to the gearbox first, make sure it locates fully with the pump drive on the g/box(the round section that's got two flat sections) in the centre of the bellhousing. Make sure the convertor does not slip out when mating engine and g/box, when mated there should not be any gap between engine and g/box(transmision) without any bolts tightened, secure transmision to engine then only replace the bolts that holds the torque convertor to the flexplate.
