Tracing an electrical issue with my 1999 Jeep Cherokee sport. when ignition is turned on after a few seconds my odometer says, " no bus" what does this mean ?

The instrument cluster or ignition switch module,
lost communication with the electrical bus or wiring
system & can not be seen by other modules!

Need wiring diagrams & factory trouble charts to diagnose
the fault

May be something on the internet about it ,on your vehicle

Google the issue

a bad crank or cam sensor can cause this as well as a bad computer...find a reputable dealer or garage to check it out for you

SOURCE: electric fan on my 1999 jeep cherokee classic wont

the relay is maybe sticking.
or there is a call for cooling when the engine is off.

if the fan turns off after a min or two then its ok.

if the fan stays on and will not trun off ever even after 30 mins then the relay is staying on and needs to be taken out and replaced.

How to fix 1999 jeep cherokee sport

You mean it cranks but does not start, right ?
The NoBus on the display means the cluster is not talking to the computer. That could be a wiring problem or a component problem.
Have you checked the engine computer for trouble codes ?

'99 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4.0 Clicking/popping when I turn the wheel to the left, such as pulling into a parking space or making a u-turn. Started a few days ago and has gotten worse very quickly.

sounds like your cv joint is bad . Have it replaced sooner rather than later as when it fails, you'll be stuck somewhere and will need a tow.

My 2001 cherokee will not start. the engine will turn over. the voltage is good but it reads nothing on the gauge, neither will the fuel. after a few seconds the odometer will read "no bus"

Hi, the no BUS is usually a seriuos issue with engine controller communication. Can you check and see what trouble code is stored in the PCM (engine comuter)? This code needs to be retrieved with a code reader available at most auto stores for around $40. If you can give me the code, I can tell you exactly what is wrong and what will be needed to repair your Jeep.

2001 jeep cherokee cranks, no start, no bus

I just had the same problem of my 2001 jeep cherokee not starting with no gauges responding and a "no bus" reading. After reading the responses I changed out the CPS and my jeep now runs great! however, it was not as hard as I thought it would be. Very easy with 7/16 bit and a 10inch extender. In and out in less than 5 minutes. Finding it was the hardest part. Blends in with the bell housing. I did this from under the jeep with a good shop light. I paid about $80 for the part here in Atlanta, GA
